Magnificent anemone question

As some of you guys know I've had my mag a few months now and knock on wood it's doing great. The past 2 weeks or so I've noticed it appears to look a little smaller then when I first got it but it's never deflated or shown any signs of illness. I figured maybe since I've never really tried to feed it directly since I don't want it to out grow my tank I let it get its nutrition from my lighting and waste from my 2 clowns that are living in it. To night I placed some mysis shrimp directly by its mouth and I figured it would have closed up immediately like when I fed BTAs and carpets in the past but it took like 10 mins to ball up and when it did it was just for under a minute. Again I'm not trying to increase its size I just want to make sure it's getting the nutrition it needs. Is this normal behavior for mags? Thanks

It is normal for mags to eat more slowly than BTAs, yes. But mine will eat a piece of food in 3 or 4 minutes. My BTAs will eat a piece of food in 1 or 2 minutes.

my gig eats a half of a whole wild shrimp in less than 2 minutes. My gigs eat very quick I should call them pigs not gigs when they eat!
