Maintaining T-Iso Culture?

I was given a culture of T-Iso phytoplankton. I have it in a clear container and bubbling with air, but it seems to be going from the brownish color to a lighter brown.

Beside the lighting (I have to T8 florescent bulbs on it) is their any maintenance I need to do? ie add RO water?

The culture should be a nice golden brown color. When you first got it, did you provide anything for it to feed on such as Micro Algae Grow?
