Looking for anyone with experience on this beautiful fish. Eaten any corals, get along with dwarf angels? Etc. Also I would like to find a juvenile so as to better train him as far as food. Any LFS good at ordering special items like this, I called a couple of places that said they get them in sporadically and to keep checking. Will FAOIS order specific animals?

I wouldn't consider any member of the Pomacanthus Genus "reef-safe" they all nibble on some form of coral and bivalves. Occasionally, some more-noxious soft corals produce enough toxin to inhibit the angel's natural tendency to feed.

I actually meant to write "reef safe" as well, there certainly are a lot of horror stories and I suspect some folks that claim success for long periods may be stretching the truth a bit. Of course I was seeking the answers I wanted to hear as well.

If I had the money I would set up a separate FOWLR tank or figure out a way to split the tank into half reef, half FOWLR or SPS dominated. It's funny how I first got into the hobby for the fish but now I am addicted to the coral side.Of course my current set up is LPS heavy with my brains being my favorite pieces. I would hate to see these guys get eaten.

Those would very likely be eaten. You almost always have to choose between an angel or lps/clams as they almost never avoid those.

"Had one", loved it! "Had a beautiful Clam". Don't have either now :(. It is a crap shoot but the odds at Craps are not in your favor unfortunately.

It's too bad, my wife loves the angel fish ( all of them really). I got the flame angel which has been a great addition , haven't had any issues with him, but she has her heart set on some type of larger angel.

Get a pair of genicanthus Angels (watanabe, swallowtail, etc). Not as colorful but they are basically the most reef safe angel, and can be a very curious fish. Mine eats out of my hand and splashes me when I'm working on the tank and she's hungry (at least I think it's her...)
