Maldives Moorish idol Cyanide caught?

OK,

After a large water change, his poo returned to normal. Then back to stringy today.

He still eats very little.

Yesterday, he ate more and gained a little weight, Today skinny again.

Great..... I can't keep red sea bannerfish. I can't keep Moorish idol...
Money down the drain. money down the drain!

This really sucks.. I already lost 3 X $150 red sea bannerfish to unexplainable white spots. The last one lasted 3 years before the outbreak.

Now probably gonna lose a $60 Moorish idol.

Nothing getting alive out of quarantine.

Our supplier sucks...sending us sick fish and charging us premium.

I'm about to get out of this hobby.

Disease is preventing me from enjoying this hobby..
I'll never achieve my dream tank!

So frustrating....sick and tired of diseased fish.

Oh well, I will try my darnest best to keep this idol alive while he's still with me.

I'm starting to really think this fish was cyanide caught.
Why else so skinny...

Been feeding spectrum pellets 3 times a day minimum.
He gets at least 10 of the 2mm pellets per feeding. He will eat them after letting them soak for a while.

If you let a Moorish Idol cause you to give up, that is too bad. MI's are known to be one of the most difficult fish to keep alive in an aquarium. Even the most experienced and qualified keepers have trouble with this fish.

Did you treat with Prazi?

Maybe you should set your sights lower and get some more hardy fish. That is like saying "If I can't hit a homerun off this major league pitcher the first time I ever swing a bat, then I am never going to play baseball again".

Well I really like the looks of red sea banner/ Moorish idol and red sea banner are considered easy, yet I failed.

Since, red sea banners are not available at the moment, I decided to try a Moorish idol.

I actually find the Moorish idol and red sea banner equally picky.
except that the red sea banner keeps weight a little better.

Clowns, yellow tangs, blue tangs, etc just don't do it for me.

On a side note, my Moorish idol is more active today.

He ate a lot of pellets when I came home. I'm happy for him today.
