Male lineatus > super male?

This is a picture of my male lineatus, I've enjoyed watching his colours develop from a borderline female to the current state. But there are a few questions I have about the tuipping point to supermale goodness.

Does it require a harem of females to push them to that terminal differentiation?
and
Is there a defined characteristic that one can attribute to a supermale rather than an ordinary male?

not an expert...but I thought it was add'l MALES that would 'push' it to supermale...

I'm convinced that all wrasses (in my tank) will turn male

BTW...who's biting his tail?

I dont know who's biting his tail, but all my fish were in cramped conditions whilst I moved and set up the new 180.

I would be more concerned about who is biting his tail. What other fish/inverts in that tank?

females that want to turn into a male will help create a terminal male, not just other males or mainly females. Nice looking lineatus. We have some coming in soon!

These are his tankmates,

majestic angel
blue tang
tenneti tang
coral beauty
eibli angel
flasher wrasse (dont know which)
occy clowns
