manderine dying, please help

my manderine started gasping for air and floating at the surfece about an hour ago, He is extreamly disile and I was able to catch her with my bair hands, I put her in an isolation tank, ran an airstone to give the water more oxygen, put pods in incase she is starving, made the water with 50/50 tank and fresh mixed salt water. What else can i do?

oh ya, I forgot to say that I got 100lb of live rock, 50lb of base rock and a 5 inch sand bed. Thats quite a buy at $2500

Check your water parameters. And let us know what they are.

all water parameters are fine exept for alkalinity, its at 15 dKH

7:00 thismorning I had to go to sleep as I was up checking on her all night. 6:00 this evening I woke up and she is doing better. She can keep her depth in the water and has more controle over her swimming. She still is quite dosile but hopefully she will fully recover. I am doing a large 1/3 water change of my water so if anything is out of wack in any way it should not hurt anything. All my corals and other fish are doing great.

Have you had the little girl for long? The bigest problem I have had with them is malnutrition from not enough food. They can wipe out a large population of pods all by themselves. Or at least knock the population down to the point that there in not enough food for them. If you have a refuge try putting her in there for a while and see if she gets better. If so the problem is probably food.

at night I can see that there are plenty of pods but they are amphipods and isopods. I have copepods but I don't see them till night time. I have had her for about a month now. I would hate for her to die

If you look at her belly, is it sunk in on the sides? If not. I'm sorry but it could be a million different things. I don't think anyone would be able to help her. If you give her plenty of food and clean water you are doing all you can for her.

My manderin does that from time to time..I panicked the first time and thought he was dying but the next day he was fine. he just floats up to the top and when I push him down he bobbs right back to the top. I don't know about gasping for air but the floating [part is normal for my little guy. I guess I could conclude that he is gasping for air but it would be a stretch

Saying your levels are fine is not helpful to those trying to help you. What is fine/normal for your tank might hae a different definition to someone else.

ya, she is fine, I am feeding frozen and live food to her but I have never seen her actualy eat.
