Mantis Problems

Hi guys,

Our mantis seems to want to sit on her back today. She was like it all day. She seems to have a problem with her legs, they are sat out sideways rather than her sitting on them.. She is also using her club to drag herself along, and she seems to have no energy (she didn't struggle when I put her the right way up).

Any ideas what this can be?

I don't see any marks on her body at all.

It has probably had a bad molt. It will almost certainly die. It may happen within a day or two, or it may take as long as a week or two. Sorry for the bad news.

Been told that she should not get any food (she is still in the same place, this is 4 days later). However, I have been reading up around and if it is shell disease (there are little spots on her carapace) that she should be fed quite a lot, as much as she can take....

Any ideas? I have switched off her lights and am running carbon....

Come on guys, we can save this one..........

Ok,

Now I have a piccy, and I suspect it could be shell disease instead.

Any takers?

If it is, do I keep running carbon, keep her in the dark, keep her eating etc.. I have SG at 1.021.. Will a reduction help?

Cheers

Jas
