Hi everyone! As you may know, we at the University of Findlay are conducting a research project on zoanthids. In order to label some of our samples correctly, we need some help identifying a couple zoanthids.
I have already checked the coralpedia gallery. We have a few that are nothing like what they have!

Here they are

1.)

2.) there are 3 or so types here I think the middle ones are whammin watermelons, but I'm not sure

3.)I have never seen anything like this before!

4.) I know this picture is small, but hopefully you can see it well enough!

I also have something interesting...

a three mouthed zoanthid =] maybe it is getting ready to split or something.

not seeing the third or second mouth.....ive never seen a zoanthid split naturally.

It is hard to see because it is so small but trust me there are 3 mouths they are the blue dots. It isn't on the orange zoanthid to the right. It is actually ion the polyp in the center of the picture. It is smaller than the eraser on a pencil.

If you look on my second picture there is a polyp with two mouths as well.

still not seeing any of these, could you circle them or get a close up shot??

Probably, looks like some knock off fire and ice zoa. There are a ton of zoas that look a lot like those. Would probably be hard to get an exact ID

They look similar to fire and ice, but are less red in the skirts. I have a few thoughts on what they could be. It is so hard to get IDs on these.

Thank you!
