March 23rd, 2019 Spring Fragswap

I’d be fine with one of each too. Back to basics is sometimes fun having a members only frag swap.

I definitely feel like this and last years swap are more of a retail space. This could be do to a couple of factors:

1. I haven't made enough connections in Slash

2. I don't have enough high end coral to swap or trade at these events.

Looking to change both of those things this year.

Traveling from swap to swap I have seen a very large decrease in the number of local hobbyists selling at swap events. Most swaps are now mostly what you would call retailers but I would consider you to look at it a little differently, a lot of the what used to be local hobbyists have set up small businesses. So a lot of these guys are still small time guys growing out corals they just have a little more polished look.
I am letting my son set up a very small frag tank at my table, he wants to try and sell some so I thought I would give him a shot. Mostly softy stuff (to start learning the hobby) but he will have some nice pieces. So if you want to support a local and rookie starting out he would appreciate it.
:D

There will be a Neptune COR-15
I am picking up a voucher for 2 tickets to the St. Louis Aquarium tomorrow.
The members only raffle will have the Apex.
Icecap salinity pen
Skimmer
Food from Rods
Food from vo2
Food from benipets
Dosing pump
Gyre
Icp tests
That's just what I can think of right now.

The Aquarium is also willing to do a construction viewing tour for one family if we are interested. I can try to meet the tour when they are on site and add additional information. This is if we think people would have interest in that.

Pretty decent list!

Reminder that the Neptune COR-15 can be run without an apex. This is a very solid, quiet, and powerful pump that can be run internally or externally. It can be ramped up or down as well.

Anyone have luck with these pens? Mine is off by .002 SG. I know this to be a fact because Nook compared my readings to 6 of his refractometers.

Is there not a way to recalibrate it? Or is it just loosing calibration super fast like my Neptune conductivity probe.

Just watched the Youtuber on it. You gotta calibrate right outta the box? Dang. Maybe I will try fresh batteries first. Bummer.

Thank you all who came out yesterday and showed your support. Was a fun day.

You were busier than a one legged man in a butt kicking contest! I didn't want to impede your sales, figured I might hit you up when I get a few dollars saved.
