Marine Pure Balls

i got the smallest box brs sells on the black friday sale....i got them because eventually i wanna setup a fug on my nuvo 40 with one of the aqua caddy baskets...filterfloss on top with cheato in middle and marine pure balls in the bottom but i can only fit like 6-7 balls in the basket so im gonna have a bunch left over....
question is, i could just bury the rest in my sand bed right? it can't hurt

You could. That may in the end be wasteful.

I'm going to be setting up my cube in a similar way. But with the extra I'll use it in my QTs to maintain bacteria in them.
