Marine velvet - near wipeout

My Naso showed no symptoms except poor appetite. This was notable because he used to literally jump out of the water and eat from my fingers. Then he became sluggish and died in 24hrs.

The hippo and powder showed white patches and spots.

Tangs are my primary fish. The others were really secondary requests for my daughter who really wanted clownfish.

Actually, you may have brook or uronema rather than velvet. I see some areas where there may be skin peeling. However, with effectively no real quarantine protocol, you may have a mixture of parasites. What was the time line when symptoms first started relative to when the chromis were introduced?

The chromis came on Nov 17. I had no issues until Christmas or so.

The chromis are still alive.

The last arrivals were 4 Anthias (alive), a six line (alive) and a flame angel (dead due to an accident) on Dec 2nd.

I think the secondary infection came from scratching against the rock?

Those pictures indicate a pretty severe Brooklynella infestation to me. Could be other parasites in addition, like Steve said above. You need to develop a quarantine procedure for new acquisitions, as well as a treatment regimen for any remaining fish currently in your possession. Otherwise, you will continue to lose fish as fast as you add them.

I don't plan on adding any fish for a long time. There are only a few fish left and I can't see ripping up my reef to get to them.

Unfortunately, if the fish are not treated, they will likely succumb.
