Mark's 150 gallon

Hi Matt,

yes bugs came back but I never treated a second time so it may be expected. I think we know redbugs don't lay eggs but if these white bugs do then multiple treatments will be needed. Maybe? I plan to treat again regardless but I'm not sure how many days to wait.

Well, that's good to know I guess. In the past, I've always killed red bugs with one shot. I guess I'll have to do two doses maybe a couple weeks apart.. If and when I do it..
How long has it been since you treated?

Thanks everyone.

I treated on the third so a little over a week. Man, time flies! I should probably treat again but once again I just can't bring myself to do anything unless I see a problem. If they return a third time then the answer is obvious and I'll have to do 2 or 3 weekly treatments to kill bugs and any new hatches.

Red bug and AEFW make me nervous every time when zoom in my picture.
I don't mind dosing treatment for red bug, but that killing my coral crab upset me. I like those little guys.... Other shrimps I can always buy back, but not easy for coral crab..... sad.....

The NanoBox hybrid is up. Easy to install since it's the same light and hangers, but there was drama, because there is always drama. Had nothing to do with the light though. :)

First, the line to the skimmer started gurgling and then gulp, woooosh. BUBBLES! It's been so incredibly humid that the line filled with moisture until it clogged, right when I've got one light down and the wiring up the other. Murphy.

This is what my PH looks like when not sucking in air from outside.

So I had to get the skimmer line cleared and hooked up, then continued with the light.

Running two coral+ in the middle with blue+ on the outside. The arrays are really something and the lime LED along with a blue/cyan channel really bring out some colors I was not seeing with just T5 and the BML strips.

I'm being careful to run no higher than 350 PAR one the corals up top and will watch closely for stress.

I also installed a tunze pump on the right side to replace the dead RW15. Flow was really reduced without it and polyp extension was lower than the extreme normal I'm used too.

So envy of the new light mark:)
Thanks for the pics bud:beer:
Had a couple of wp's and rw's die on me too...quit on them, like they did on me...

Also subbed out all my jebao pumps with tunzes. Jebao fit the bill for a while, but those tunzes are on another level

Sooooooooooooooooo jealous Mark!! I looked at nanobox hybrids for ages and they look gorgeous! Did you get a retrofit or a hybrid? What colour scheme did you go with?? Lol

Tank looks unreal mate! :D definitely going to keep getting better and better! And hence the Phoenix rises from the ashes :D

Thanks, I am really digging the light. :)

It was a scratch and dent, made for someone else and then in a road incident (driver and car unharmed) that put a dent and some scratches in the fixture. I don't like looking at the fixture and Dave at Nanobox knows this so he contacted me and gave me an offer I could not refuse. :D

It's an interesting blue. My daughter likes it. :lmao:

So I'm going to post a photo dump here of what the corals look like now so I can compare in a couple of weeks. Tank health is near perfect and I tell you the LED combination in these arrays combined with the T5's is bringing out colors I have never seen before. Acros still have a lot of brown but are healthy.

Settings during the day (6 hours) are 75% Royal Blue, 75% Blue+Cyan, 70% Lime, 25% White, 25% Violet.

Morning and evening are 75% RB, 25% Blue+Cyan, 10% Violet.

My Rear BML strip is off, front runs at 25% Royal Blue + Blue.

T5's on for 6 hours, matching the LED peaks. 2 C+, 2 B+.

KH: 6.7
Mg: 1325
PO4: .03
NO3: 0 to 1 depending on kit
Salinity is a tad low at 1.025~6 or 34ppt

Yes, very curious to see how the light works out. I am sure it will be good. In a couple of weeks we may see some variation in your colors and growth pattern.

Several years ago I was going to have Dave build a light for a nano tank. I really liked that he seemed to be on the fore front of Led wavelength blending and he did custom jobs for clients. Unfortunately it never happened as I reduced my involvement in the hobby for several years. I am still a fan of his work.

Awesome set of pics Mark, things are looking great :)

It always sh$ts me when my mates can keep angels that would destroy my acros in days if i tried the same thing. Tried two flame angels - both went for the acros within weeks.............. :debi:

Love the yellow tang head on shot, i miss seeing the big yellow flash mine gave the display but mine started nipping acros as you know........ i bet yours never will Mark....... unless you put them in my tank, then they'd all turn weird i bet.........:spin1:

Great pics mark:thumbsup:
Glad to see those corals doing so good!
Foxface and lovable shouldn't be in the same sentence bud:p
I really don't like that fish, good worker but such an ugly sob:wildone:
I know i know, the fact that i look exactly like brad pitt doesn't give me the wright to judge but i just wanted to share my opinion:o

Seen any differences in PE or something, with the new light?

Hi Mike,

so far only positive changes with the light, but I think this just means I got the PAR right, or maybe even a little dimmer than before.

One very positive development is that the subulata now has new growth on some old damaged tips. This is new this week.

I tried closeup videos. These suck less than a previous attempt, but still are not that good. :D
