:( Sorry to hear about the tank.

It does become a ball and chain at times but living without the colors and cool life to study is somtimes worse.Hang in there bud,I have been there and back to enthusiasm a few times so hopefully it will pass

Thanks everyone. I did last summer when I went down to IMAC west and just went to Disneyland instead :D The only thing is that I wish I would got out then; Now it just makes it more difficult. The cool colors and life will always interest me, but everything going on with my job and how my wages are tied to the state's budget disaster, it makes just looking at the tank harder and harder to enjoy. I don't even know when the last time I've posted anywhere but this forum and the local forum. When that day comes, I will start by unloading livestock from my shallow system and go from there

Tanks looking great as always mark. sorry to here about the casualties. hope everything is going well for you

Darn you Brandon for bumping this thread.

I hope all is well with the new occupation. The tank is what it is these days. Some days it looks better than it eve has and some days I think it needs to be completely overhauled; I guess thats really my perception and not the tank

sorry about the bump i have to get my once a year comments on your thread. people probably see me post and think who the heck is this guy

Hang in there Mark your tank still looks great despite all the losses. It's a rewarding and frustrating hobby all at the same time! Just always remember to take time for the family and enjoy life, the tank will be there when you get home ;)

Thanks Rob. Thanks to another furlough order yesterday, I know that we will not be forced into minimum wage, but I just don't know how much longer I will enjoy this hobby just looking at it as a money pit. In the next month I have to purchase new filters, media, salt and lights are next month.
The tank is what it is. It will continue to grow and fill in. Some corals will die, some corals will thrive, some fish will die and the others aregoing to keep swimming; all while me spending money. My passion for the hobby is not what it used to be. Do I enjoy the hobby? Of course I do. Taking a break sounds nice, but not having a tank doesn't. Thats my quandry :p

I think you need to play like a bear in winter and go into hibernation for a while and stay away and off the the reefing boards with the chaos they tend to bring :hammer: Just keep with your inner group of reefing buddies and forget the rest :eek1:

The cycle of life. It is what it is. It's no different in their world or ours. We can only attempt to change it to a certain degree. Enjoy it for what it is today. Appreciate it for what it will be tomorrow.
