Not much to show for todays work. I soldered the canopy fans together on a single supply and then installed them. I soldered the wiring harness and power suppy for the icecap430 for the vho's. I connected the ballast adapters to the LA minis.
I did finally finish mapping my plumbing  Here are a couple shots of the progress.

Very nice and clean! I like the grey PVC with blue valves, makes everything look so deltec highend :)

BTW, on the Y split for your snapper, where is the pipe going to the back leading to in the future? it is shooting straight down for now.

Are you going to use the mini Ozone feature in your Aqua UV?

There are two pipes, one from the return that comes down and one that is going up to a return. One is to the chiller and one is from the chiller ;)

Looks great Mark. Question though... Will the zip ties holding your plumbing in place eventually stretch? It may not be a big deal, but I thought I'd mention it.

No, good call. Since I am mocking it up, I used zip ties. I was planning on going and getting some rubber plumbers tape. Are you familiar with it? If so, what do you think? I was thinking that I would be able to use enough tension on it to hold it in place.

I am also planning a little shelf type thingy on the far right to house my ballasts. I dis not want to stack them directly on top of each other.

Zip ties actually hold up quite well. I used it on mine to hold up some plumbing and it does quite well with no stretching, but mine are more for secondary support rather then primary. HTH.

What is the 5gallon jug for?

love the grey pvc. very clean. are you gonna paint the UV, too? Who's the dude in blue standing behind your tank? tell him to get outta da way when u're taking shots! :D

I'm not familiar with it. But I do know a few plumbers. ;) You could even double or triple up the zip ties I suppose. Don't plumbers use some type of plastic hanger (looks like the hook of a coat hanger) that holds PVC plumbing in place? It hooks under the PVC and is screwed into the ceiling, etc. I think I may have some in my basement. I'll check.

I like the latest trend of making an external box of sorts to house ballasts, keeping them away from water.

Yes, they sell those white plastic hooks at HD and Lowes. There's also the plastic pipe hanging tape with holes down the middle.

C'mon Jay. You know how I roll  I need to get the tank in the house so I can watch the tourney and not have to listen to it on my ihome in the garage.

Oh yeah...its that close.

Don't sat that too loud, I don't want my wife to hear that. I need to do some checking of the weather to see if I can set up a couple holding tanks for the corals, just in case ;)

I could set it up and get water in it right now if need be. Halides are wired, pumps are installed, plumbing is mocked up, and the new achilles tang is eating mysis :D I need to do a lot of stuff once its set up like controllers, back ups, fuge lights...but
