looking good.

I was begining to wonder why this thread became so quiet lately. Hope your feeling better. How are the flame wrasses? You didn't get the trio? Can't wait to see a picture.

So, I take 5 days off of my thread and your guys had to inquire where I was and what I was doing. I've got you guys right where I want you

I did get a trio, The females were small and one did not make it through the 1st night. The male and female are in a QT by themselves, plus the new swimmer I just picked up. I am now QT'n every fish I get. I know way better than that.

I wasn't going to post this because I do not like to post pictures RIP. But since there are enough fish in this thread that have moved on to the big ocean in the sky, enjoy

whats yoooour favorite scary movie....?

hahaha :)

It's good idea to QT your fish. Especially since you have tangs... they're ich magnets. One of these days I'm going to have to make the trip over there...Keep them coming.

I feel so bad everytime I go out in the garage and see the flame wrasses and peppermint hog in QT. I must be strong; for them

I did get some new zoas over the last week. Here are just a couple as they are still opening after dips.

Don't I recall something you said along the lines of "I don't know if any of the zoas will be going into the new tank"? Very nice additions.

Hi,Mark your tank are so beauty , a special fish and colorful coral and clean water may I asking you which salt are you useing ? please do not tell me the reason is because your pro skimmer ... :p

thanks .

Thank you willan for your kind words. I use a mixture of salts; right now it is a 60/40 mix of Reefcrystals and Seachem Marine. I will be adding a third salt, but at the moment only two.

A skimmer has only a small part to do with my water as I am using an old in sump H&S. I also do use a 57watt UV that produces 20mg of ozone a day as well. The key for me is 20% weekly water changes.

Yep, I believe in in good water. If I tell myself weekly and if I miss a week, then I am ok. If I was doing bimonthly or monthly water changes and missed one, it now becomes more of a chore. It might slow down as the tank contunues to settle, but for now, I will continue my 30 minute weekely routine.

I've always done weekly 10% changes, and occasional 20% ones. Something for me to think about.

I don't have the link anymore, but I read an article where the dicussion was at what percentage does a water change become really worth it. 10% was on the list, but there was dramatic difference at 20% at what was being taken out versus what was being replaced.

I wish I still had the link, but when I switched computers some of my favorites were not tansferred over.

My fish trials continue :(

I had my flame wrasse pair in a QT tank with a peppermint hog. They were doing great and I was happy they were in there. Somehow, my filter got unplugged and I went to feed them this morning to find the flames dead. The ammonia was off the chart as there was no filtering.

I did acclimate the peppermint hog into the display and he ate an hour later.

"If its not one thing, its another..." great words from the fish philospher; tfp
