Sorry to hear about the flames Mark, that sucks. Any plans to replace them, or are you gonna hold off for awhile?

I would've posted a little while ago, but I'm over here steaming over my wasted trip this morning.

Jeremy- I read your other post, too bad. I think the flame wrasse will go to the list of fish that I am not supposed to keep. I'm ok with that.

tbone- I have had my CBB for over a year so he eats like a champ

:furious: :uzi: :blown: :furious: OK, I think I'm done now!

Yeah, not a good run so far with the flames. Just need to hold out for that oh so elusive wrasse!

Awesome. That's another fish that I can't find (which eats)

My experiences and research have concluded that your best odds are when you get one around 3". It also helps to have small fether dusters in your tank. They are a live source of food and that helps start their survival. I have also heard that they like blood worms.

Thanks for the tips, Mark. I do have *some* feather dusters, but I do feed my fish blood worms. I may give *another* one a try. Did your CBB eat right away?

Out of curiosity, why do you mix salt?

I think the better question is why are you not? and also why are you looking at zeo and probidio?

Sorry to hear about the flames:( such a beautiful fish.
I have had bad luck with them as well...still trying to decide if I should try them 1 more time.
Your tank looks great. Love the zoos your pictures makes me want to start collecting them

omg bummer Mark, it rain for days around my house in the beginning. i have my qt running 24/7 even when i don't have any fishes in there, so when i am ready to purchased livestock i don't have to worry about getting it setup.

I supplement the rest?

Hahaha the prodibio and zeo... I was just curious because everyone and their moms is getting all excited about the stuff in the sps forum. So I wanted to see what the hype was all about.

Thanks Stacie and Bart. It looks like the fish are working out their own stocking list :)

Jay- Zeo was the big thing a few years back. There are just so many "new" reefers in the game. The instant reef type who do not understand what it take to build and keep a reef. They want instant gratification. I really don't even go to the SPS forum as much as I used to because there are too many threads along the same lines.

It took me a few hundred dollars worth of corals to learn that zeo and brobidio corals will never look the same in non-system tanks. Take in point, the LE Ultimate Blue stag. I have never seen a piece that even comes close to the way it looks in gregs tank. I have basically stopped buying corals from vendors that are using zeo as my system is too different from theirs.

I too fall into that category, but I also know that superior results can be achieved without a low nutrient system. I have palyed around with the idea of the basic 4; heck, I'm even a registered member @ zeovit.com.

My thought exactly..I know zeo has been around but the emergence in the sps forum is little crazy. I've been reading their posts and I've come to the conclusion of...what's the difference between zeo and good husbandry?

I can skim wet, feed less and achieve those pale zeo colors too without robbing my wallet. ;)

I don't know..

I feel so bad everytime I go out in the garage and see the flame wrasses and peppermint hog in QT. I must be strong; for them

I did get some new zoas over the last week. Here are just a couple as they are still opening after dips.
