Marko9,
Is that a PH probe pressure fitting I see at the top of your AcuaC RX-1?

Yep, no after market mods needed.

AquaC RX-1 Calcium Reactor

AquaC RX-1 Calcium Reactor

I just bought the AquaC RX-1 Calcium Reactor last night to replace my home made reactor. How do you like your AquaC thus far? The GEO Deluxe pack offered on premiumaquatics.com was a very close second place.

I have not set it up yet. I just got a bag of Korallin media and a container of Elos media this afternoon. I plan on mixing them and some zeo mag in my reactor.

Thanks Anthony, Fins reef just shipped me out my new skimmer body because my other one was damaged in shipping. I am still dealing with USPS and that is a mess.

I will be working on my stand this weeknd as well. I will be putting the ply wood top on as well as the plywood bottom. If I have time, I will also skin it as well.

I am looking forward to our local clubs meeting on Friday. Sanjay is coming to speak. I am still on the fence on my lighting options. I think I will feel more comfortable after hearing the master himself. :)

I just tracked my skimmer body and it is in Pheonix on its way. I am looking forward to seeing how it will fit in the sump.

After last nights presentation from Sanjay, I am still undecided about my lighting. I did see that the reflectors that SLS uses are some of the best for producing penetrating light in the DE market.

The thing about lighting is that it is so personal. I am having success with DE, but I am person that is always curious if I could get better results if I try something else. That is a dangerous line to walk.

Just a small update as I finished framing my stand this morning. I am ready to skin it now. I feel really good about it. I just couldn't remember if my ply sheet should run over my 3/4 finish and be covered by my trim piece or if the finish sheet should meet flush to the ply. I hope this makes sense.

Thanks cbui2. I will probably skin it 3/4 red oak. I will be shooting for a dark espresso type stain.

I opened this six weeks ago and was not really happy.

I got my replacement H&S body today from Brian @ Fins Reef.

This was the 1st time I was privledged enough to put it together.

I guess this officially means that I am in the H&S club :D I am still in litigation with USPS about my insurance claim, but at least I did not have to wait until the next shipment from overseas.

Here it is home in the sump

Thanks Anthony. It has been a headache :(

This weekend I am taking my frame over to a local reefers shop to deck it out. I am also starting to put my plumping list together. It sure adds up quickly.

It has been a long day. I went over to a local reefers home today to get a jump on my stand and canopy. We went and got the lumber and trim and spent the next few hours battling little obstacles that always come up when woodworking. Needless to say, the stand and canopy are skinned with 3/4 red oak and the cutout for the doors were also made. We started on the trim but called it a night.

Glad to see you received your skimmer body, good thing you didn't have your tank setup yet. By the way, any reason why you are not using the elbow that connects the pump to the body as oppose to having it held up upside down like that? Looks like it can rotate quite easily and given the weight of those pump would add some stress to the portion that holds it up.

Yeah, PVC and plumbing supplies adds up to quite a bit. I think i spent close to 600 when i started my tank.

Gabe- I looked for that elbow, but I could not find it so I figured that it did not need one. It does fit pretty snug though. I will have to take a second look through the shipping peanuts and if not, contact fins reef and see how important it is.

Anyone else notice the Realtor's sign behind the stand??

"Honey, stop the car" I guess anything's worth a try in this market!

Mark, MORE PICS!!! :)

I was able to locate the elbow once I took out the shipping peanuts. Thanks Gabe ;)

I am currently running a euroreef 6-2 on my 90.
