I think, you're going to need more than drops. Patience is a virtue. Your tank will get a large amount of diatom on your glass in about 4 to five days which will be normal.

After picking up some scary frags last week, I decided to set up a proper QT tank. This is what I accomplished today

I thought I had a mag 3 laying around, but all I could find was my mag 5 that I use for water changes. I will be eyeing a small eheim in the classifieds.
I have a 150 watt sunpod that I will be using for now, but I still need to construct a small over hang for mounting purposes. I did get a small kole tang and yellow coris to help patrol the tank

:hmm2: I've been pretty out of it. Don't worry about it Jeremy. If you need it, its cool. I might get a 1260 depending if I need to pick up a small chiller this summer.

mark, that is a sweet lookin' q-system you got setup. its never too late but if you want to simplify things, put that skimmer and heater directly in the tank. that would cut out the need for that return pump?

Thanks Tim. I might do that. I just remember the garage pushing 83-84 last summer. I think an extra fan over the sump might help with heat. If not, I will have to rethink what I am doing. Now we have a place to hold our frags

Ok; the garage QT/holding/frag system is pretty much done. I still am undecided about the lighting. I'll be keeping an eye on the classifieds. I mounted the light temporarily, but I'll address that another day.

Thanks Jeremy, I feel much better even though his tail was tattered a little, he was out flashing all over the Rosy. The Rhomboid was cool with him as well.

The other cool thing is that I found where the mystery sleeps. I can easily pull him out as we sleeps with his tail haning out and it is easily accessible.

That's cool, but hopefully it doesn't come to that! The tattered tail wouldn't bother me any, as that'll heal quickly enough.
BTW, both of my tangs are looking good again. No more ich!
