The Joc's nice, but look at all of those beauties on the sand!

Thanks Rudy. There might be one or two decent pieces that hold my sand bed in place ;)

I spent some extra time today at the camera shop so I could shoot the 50mm f/1.4 and the 85mm f/1.8. I had the ISO at 2000 for those shots. I know thats a lot higher than I will shoot normally, but it sure was fun :D

Mark - (subscribed) I take it that you like your new D90? :D I'm envious. Looks pretty good for ISO 2000!

Where'd you pick this one up? Looks very similar to an aussie chalice frag I was given:

Mike this piece is the robokaki that has been around for a couple years. I also have a piece of the one from aussie and even though they may similar, they are different. One has a lot of "glitter" and the other one has an amazing lime green rim.

I am very excited to finally have pulled the trigger on the new purchase. This purchase has not really been in the budget so I had to sell a couple frag packs so the wifey would not ask "why do you have two cameras"? She still did :p

This has been a long battle. I remember when my PO4 was at .39

then

Then for a long time

Then, It seemed I could never get it any lower than

what have you been doing different?

Less water changes and feeding more :D

When my po4 was its highest, that is when I noticed the Vortech's dreaded Gen I rust issues. Since then, I have tried a lot. I guess the latest has been the addition of zeozyme and coral snow.

the zz and cs combo is nice huh...

crystal clear water ;)

I have only used it 5 times and due to having two gobies, I really have not been able to tell. I am sure that it is better, but until I turn off my pumps to take some pics, I don't know how much difference I will see.

Has your skimmer been pulling more as a result of using the 2?

I have been running my skimmer more dry of late so I am not sure where my benchmark really would be.

Didn't see that one coming

Between the CS and ZZ thats ~$100... are they worth it? Are they some type of carbon source?

My jocs don't even compare to one of your fish

As for worth it, the zeozyme will last for awhile; but really, Are any of the supplements we use "worth it" ;)

I know, you can only play the gem tang and hybrid butterfly card for so long :p

How is the remounting coming along?

Mark - Have you looked into VSV + biodigest? I have found it a remarkably effective and inexpensive way to control nitrates/phosphates. I have taken my phosphate reactor offline as VSV is much cheaper than rowaphos (even the generic kind). There is a little up front research to understand the correct dosage, but in the end its very simple, 3 ml/day for my tank, then biodigest 1x/week.
