Mark's new build

Tank is looking great. Can't wait to see some sticks in there. Let me know when you're ready cause I have a few frags waiting for you:)

Thanks guys, I can't wait to get corals in my tank, so far everything is doing good, water parameters are spot on,I think next month I will finally put few SPS in there. For now couple more pictures of my fish.

Sorry for lack of updates, added few SPS frags , nothing special. Needed to adjust my light level as my ATI light is way to strong and even with frags all the way on the bottom they started to bleach. Right now I run my LEDs 50% and T5's at 60% and the PAR is about right, around 350 on sand bed. With full power I had almost 1800 PAR at surface. In two weeks going to open house LA/DD, I hope to bring few things with me,will post some pictures then.

Nice build...Was wondering where you got your screening from. Im looking for some but didnt really want to go through BRS.

Long overdue update, I have lost both of my Angels. Still don't know what happened really, they were doing great for about two months and one day I came back from work and both are dead. No signs of any disease or parasites. I took a drive to Wisconsin few weeks ago to attend DD open house, it was great experience to see this whole operation and meet Kevin. One of the nicest guys I've met. Unfortunately I did not buy anything , as what I wanted was not for sale, and other items just did not caught my attention. Finally I put corals in my tank, have few SPS frags and few small colonies, no close ups yet just a short video of my tank early morning with only blue lights on. Excuse phone quality video, white balance is a little off. In the coming days I will have couple of weeks off from work, will try to post better video and some good pictures. I changed my aquascape a little bit, but I think I like better this way. Still all caramic rock in there and 5L. of siporax in sump for additional biological filtration. I am very happy with my ATI Led/T5 hybrid, but right now running only 50% led and 80% T5 as it is very strong and I bleached few corals. Also my ATI PowerCone skimmer still doing fantastic job, I did see few so so reviews , still scratching my head what was wrong with their skimmers to give that review. Completely silent, never a restart problem and not once overflowed yet, just set and forget, anyway here is a short video as promised, enjoy.

Nice update Mark. Have you thought about adding more sand to weigh down the bare spots?

I used Tropic Eden Reef Flakes when I upgraded and am very impressed with it. Absolutely the cleanest stuff Ive ever seen right out of the bag.

Thanks, I actually have reef flakes in there and agree with you that this is the cleanest and nicest substrate around. Unfortunately I can't keep it in place with my flow. I might add more but not sure if will stay in place to cover the bare spot. I tried different pump positions and still not able to find the perfect spot for the sand to stay in place. I might just cover this front bare spot with low light corals , it should look better once done.

Sorry to hear about the loss of your angels. The tank looks awesome though. Have you thought about a few anthias? With all that wide open space a harem of four or five lyretails would look pretty sweet.

Sorry to hear about the angels Mark thats a tough loss and an expensive one. I found with those angels is that they need a lot of places to hide and a well established tank with lots of rock to graze on. My first pair did the same thing as yours. I got them after my tank had only been running for about 3 months and 4 weeks after they died mysteriously. They were eating and looked healthy but died anyway. I waited about 9 months before getting my next pair which were two females. One became a male in a matter of weeks and they were very happy in my tank until I decided to move and sold them off.

Thank you, yes I am thinking of adding few Anthias but at this moment I want my tank to stabilize a little more before adding more livestock.

Thank you Steve, this would explain their death. Right now I have no plans to get another pair,I think they would enjoy bigger tank then mine anyway.

Wow, your flow must be crazy intense! It would be cool to cover that are with some chalices, zoas etc
