I keep my WC at 10 gal.once a month,I think it is enough,my corals and fish looks happy. Here is my most recent picture:

Thanks for the info, and I must say the tank is looking fantastic:bounce3::bounce2::bounce1::eek1:

I just was looking close at your FTS and was wondering if the tank is bare bottom or not, if so do you recommend over having a substrate?

For sunrise and sunset my fixture has 4 bulbs on,not two.I run blue plus, fiji purple, new generation and blue plus. The last picture is under those four bulbs.

Good eye,I have shallow sand bed,but when cleaning it, I removed some of it up front.Never got to replace it.I like the look of sand better then bare bottom, but now with corals grown it is hard to get there with siphon and clean it.I am thinking of redoing my tank a little, and most likely it will be BB for ease of cleaning, but I will add sand to my sump.I believe it helps to keep parameters more stable.

My tank officially turned one year last week.So far I am very happy with how the things turned out.Corals are growing so fast I have to frag them every few weeks. Some other colonies starting to overshadow colonies under them.At this point I am thinking to redo my aquascape a little with more open look, get rid of some corals, and give the rest more space to grow.I am also contemplating switching to LED lights, but it is hard for me to get away from T5,especially that corals are doing so good.I thing I will look at the LED's in person in few months at upcoming MACNA at Des Moines.Than I will make my decision about lights.I love my new combo with New Generations bulbs. Here some recent pictures,I thought I will have more time this weekend to get more, but with my baby son I am short on time .Enjoy.

Tank looks awesome! The pictures are coming out great!

MACNA is one of the best places to see new lighting and what not for your tank!

Thank you. Friend come by today with PAR meter,so we took quick measurement.I am pleasantly surprised. Tek Light T5 fixture ,3 wks.old bulbs. Here are the results.Don't let people tell you that Tek is not a good fixture,as long as you use good bulbs you can grow anything with this light.

Wow those are some really impressive par numbers. I'll have to find someone in town that I can borrow their par meter. I want to know a before and after when I change my light fixture.

Tank looks great!

I may have to try a New Generation bulb in my TEK in place of one of my Aquablue Spec.

The KZ bulbs just give me sticker shock. I was looking at using ATI Purple Plus instead of my KZ Fiji Purple to save $8, but I understand the color spectrum is not the same.

I will be going to my first MACNA. Will also be checking out the LEDs as well. I am running one LED fixture over my frag tank, but have been holding out for more dim able fixtures to pick from before I consider the display. As you know, $180 every six months for bulbs can get your interest up in LEDs.

That is what I did,I got rid of one Aquablue and one Blue plus and instead put 2 New Generation bulbs.Believe me I did not like their prices either, but it was worth it.I did use ATI purple because somebody told me it is the same as KZ Fiji, but I did not like it,so I got Fiji again and I am happy again.I am looking for LED's because I like the way light looks, but I have to be sure my SPS will not suffer because of it.And yes ,couple hundred $$$ every six months will pay for LED lights.

Wow beautiful tank. I wouldnt change a thing it looks like whatever you are doing is working great! I skimmed through this entire thread I might have missed it but are you running a calcium reactor or dosing? How do you keep calc and alk up?

Thank you ,I dose two part from BRS,using their dosing pumps controlled by RKL.I dose about 100 ml.of each Ca and Alk daily.

I just wanted to say your tank is an inspiration. I just changed to ATI bulbs and noticed a huge difference in my corals colors and polyp extension. I didn't know about the New Generation 14000K T5 HO Fluorescent bulbs, but I may get them for fixtures as well... I just bought my Purple+ bulbs a couple weeks ago, but will eventually replace those with the Fiji's as well. My tank is a 96" length tank, but only 24" high (same as yours). I was also thinking about switching to LEDs at some point.

Anyway great tank and keep up the good work on the photos a videos.
