Im upgrading to a 180 and we have a 4 inch maroon and a GBTA, the wife really wants a set of percs... in a tank this large will there be trouble with this fish combo

thats what i was going to do, i was going to put the nem on a little island so it doesnt wonder and hope the maroon stays with it... and hope the percs dont try and get in the nem to lol.

Anyone have and thoughts on this?

she just wants a pair of "original" lol looking clown fish... as long as they are orange black and white she will be happy

Its really hit or miss..so you're not gonna really know until you try it out. I am not suggesting you try it out but it could get ugly. Then again it could work. Who knows.

Well if it were me, I'd go w/ false(occelariss/nemo)
I bet that maroon will keep them on their side of the tank.
A PAIR of true's might test her for that nem IMO.
But in a 180 you may have enough seperation.
If I got trues I'd get them their own nem.

thanks for the advice guys.. i think ill try it, and if worst comes to worst i have a person lined up for the maroon and the her gbta

buy two bubble tip anemones and put them spread out in the tank that will allow the clowns to have lots of spots to dive and hide in i think it could work i have seen it but be prepared for it to go wrong in case it does
in the long run that female maroon will become 6inches and kill any fish she want to

she is alittle over 4 inches now and oddly enough doesnt show much aggression... she is territorial over her GBTA but she isnt aggressive, even if i have to stick my hand in the tank and move the GBTA with my hand she just swims off and watches (had to do this today as it was getting to close to a power head).. from what iv read i think other maroons would of tried biting me?

well if she doesnt bite your hand you may have a nice girl go ahead and try it i will be so jealous when it works out for you

When I acclimate my fish, I always cradle w/ my hand and put it in the tank, no net.
There's a pic in my galleryof this.
Years ago I had a maroon that loved to be inside my cupped hand, and everytime I put my hand in tank she would swim into the palm of my hand.
So, there are some that are nicer than others.
Now the maroon I have now, bites my hand, draws blood, HATES when I scrape coraline in front of her nem.
But she takes good care of her nem and isn't mean to other fish ...yet, so I deal w/ her.
There's a pic of a baby maroon in my hand in my gallery.
Good luck to you.
