Maroon Clowns

I have a pair of maroon clowns in a 350g display. I know they are aggressive but wondering if I could add a pair of false clowns without issue. Is the tank large enough that they will have enough space or is this a bad idea?

Thanks for your thoughts.

My though on it are at first they will be fine. but over time clowns tend to expand there territory. but 350g is a lot so I'm going to say ok

maroon clown fish and the other clowns in a very large tank like your seems okay at first, but after time they will become aggressive toward each other... Seen it happen to a few local tank... :D, but good luck!

Others have had luck -- and the size of your tank would help -- but this is something that I wouldn't suggest/attempt. It might work in the short term (( 2-3 years )), but that could all change when/if one pair starts to spawn. Maroons, in general, are pretty mean/aggressive, as far as clowns go.

And the kicker, what if it does go wrong -- do you have a back up plan to place the clowns after you catch them, which wouldn't be fun in that sized tank.

In that size tank is where I begin to say you got about a 50/50 chance, but the losing end will be pretty ugly.
I think there are so many other better options for fish I personally would not risk it.
I'd have one nem w/ a cool pair of clowns, and tang/anthias heaven!

Ah-HA!! Here is where I agree with you guys. (Todd and davocean :)) I would NOT mix any other clowns with Maroon Clowns. Even in a 350 gallon tank. Maroons are some of the meanest, most territorial clowns out there. Tomatoes and Clarkiis are close behind.

One of the stores I go to had a 300 gallon tank with various Tangs, Angels, and a full grown female maroon. Out of the blue, she claimed the whole tank and started attacking every fish in it. As said, it could work, but I've seen it not work.
