I don't think she has worked with them yet? However I'm obtaining my broodstock right now and my main focus will be on golden dwarf angels

I for one am very hopeful that one day soon, when I go into my LFS I'll be able to purchase captive bred reef angels from the work Karen and others are doing!

What I'm in awe of is Karens willingness to let us all be a part of this and the kindness she has shown to all of us along the way. The breeding part is awesome but the friendliness and dedication means so much more to me. Of course I commend those other guys for their success and efforts (what they've all accomplished is outstanding) but none them have ever gave me the opportunity to chat with them, for that Karen I thank you!
I have not attempted C. aurantia and I have never even seen one in real life! It is one of my favorite species and certainly worthy of a captive breeding effort.

Karen, if you have time, could you please share how you are going about collecting the eggs without damaging them. Pictures of what you use might be helpful as well.
It's simple. I just turn off the pumps and scoop with a fine mesh net (regular type from the pet store) after the spawn. Put the eggs in a container of 1 to 4 liters depending on size of spawn and check them in the morning for fertility.
The tricky part is figuring out when the fish are spawning if you haven't seen them spawn. For that I put a 600 micron screen over the outflow so that I can check for eggs. I often turn off the pumps at lights out and then wake up every couple of hours to check for eggs. (I leave aeration on while pumps are off.)
There are also many ways to collect eggs from overflow boxes into netted containers. As long as your flow is not too strong it will work out well. Eggs are relatively tough in terms of handling.
I've been looking at the morphology of the possibilities and I'm leaning (and hoping) that it's the venusta x multibar. The larvae are still not fully settled so there is the possibility for more changes which is unlikely but also unknown. Just gotta wait and see"¦.
Some good news to distract us from waiting on the blonde larva is that Faith and Fabio had a larger spawn last night/this morning. They made me work for it by spawning at 1am! Many eggs have dropped out already but we'll see how the rest of the eggs do today. This could be the start of next interrupta larval run"¦.

Thank you Karen, but I've got time to wait now. I had a major catastrophe happen over the weekend. The corner seal in my acrylic tank burst and about a hundred gallons paired out. Luckily I was rear by when it happened so I was able to save most of all the corals and fish. Everything is in my shallow reef now while I have a new and improved tank/system built. So hopefully F&F will have a little brood by the time I'm up and running again.

Sorry to hear about that Wayne, glad to hear you saved most things. Are you going to make a larger system with this new build?

Thanks. No, I wish but I'm limited on space because it's an in-wall. But I should have a bit more real estate this time around with an external overflow. Also my plumbing will be more efficient too so hopefully no more power heads.
And to tell you the truth, after this mess I don't think I want a larger system anymore. My current system is already time consuming enough and barely manageable. If I go larger, the work, resources and time will increase that exponentially more too.
