Mature and unwell Oscar

I just got this guy two days ago, my fiance took it from sone one who couldn't keep it any longer. I had just emptied a tank of fish so we kept it. he has ich which I'm treating with ich medication and doing daily water changes with a little salt. have the temp at 80. he has some pretty bad holes in his head too. any advice? I hope he's not too far gone, he's very listless and swims awkward.

No expert at freshwater, but what 'ich medicine' are you using?

Tank transfers may actually also work for freshwater ich. You would need to look up the lifecycle to see if you have to do shorter intervals. Daily transfers should work for sure.
A medications that works for me was Rid Ich Plus (Malachite Green and Formalin). Raising the temperature may work as well (but is not a good idea for very sick fish or when using formalin containing medications).
