maxi jet 1200

My rio pump quit today and I went to lfs and picked up a maxi 1200 to replace it with. The rio was running my skimmer and I can't get the maxi to do what I want it to.I think I need a venturi air kit for it but i do not know where to find one. Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

it comes in the bbox and attaches to the peice that slides on and angles flow like in this pic

The skimmer venturi kits are different from the standard air injectors:

I don't know anything about that kit.

yeah that looks to be more adjustable, you could make that if you can find the part that fits on the powerhead

Thanks I ordered the part. One other question that has nothing to do with powerhead. I am getting some red slime algea on my sand pretty thick. I am thinking this might have something to do with my rio pump not working right and me not knowing it.What else would cause this? I use ro / di water my water param check out amm 0 trates 5 trites 0 cal 410 sg 1.024 temp 78 all are pretty consistant. My corraline growth is very strong and I tought my bad algea problems were over . Thought wrong. thanks for any help.

Cyanobacteria needs food to grow, so fixing the skimmer might fix that problem. I wouldn't worry too much yet.
