maxi mini carpet propogation?

Just curious with these becoming more common (and colorful) if anyone has tried forced propogation with cutting through the mouth like BTAs?

Yes, the maxi minis have not split on their own for me or anyone else that I have talked with. I buy disposable scalpels and cut through the mouth. I have had the least losses only cutting in 1/2. Here are some photos of mini and maxi mini propigation.

Great documention! :)
Very helpful to know, maybe I'll get the guts to take the plunge on some of mine.

How big is your maxi mother in the in tank photo next to the blue polyps?

That maxi mini was about 6", I had it about a year. It just kept growing and never split. I made the mistake of cutting into forths. I lost 2 quarters. Flow is extremely important. I had my korollia aimed directly at the basket they were in. I made the mistake of plugging it into the light powerstrip, it went off at night. I have cut many, aside from this stupid mistake I have not had any other losses. My advice is try one, one of your less valuable colors. Make the cut in two strokes, mouth out, one side than the other. The maxi minis will take a month to heal completely while the minis will heal in a week. Good luck

(Stichodactyla tapetum) The mini carpet anemones are smaller, they don't get much larger than a inch or two accross and multiply if fed on thier own. Maxi mini can grow to six incher or more. I have not heard of any reports of them splitting on thier own, we propigate them.
