You guys have no idea how upset I am with these lights. Don't get me wrong, I love the mounting versatility and options along with the adjustability of the LEDs. But the issues with mounting the modules and it all being secure has me POed. I can't stress enough the importance of having a tank cover between your water surface and your lights. Had I not had the tank cover, I would have had another swimmer on my hands. :headwally::angryfire:

I plan on buying a single Mazarra P Series light for my JBJ 28g NanoCube soon. I will not have a glass top on my tank because I will have SPS. I won't be able to hang the light, so my only option will be using Package A + E Is there anyway to set it up so it doesn't fall? Can you super glue or jb weld the mounting kit or parts so it WON'T fall?

I'm not sure how high above the waterline you are going to mount it, but what kept my light going deep into my tank was the connecting cord that powers the unit. You'll get a better understanding once your kit arrives and you actually have the unit in front of you. It's kind of hard to explain without seeing it in action.

The S-series don't have controller capabilities, so you use the built in features.

I've got 3 modules over the 4x2x2 currently. Auto mode with weather. I have a 4th ready to go.

I've been lagging as of late but I did check the PAR on the Automatic Mode. Today at 12:00pm, between cloud cover, the first few inches under the water, directly below the module, has about 1000. Mid tank about 600 to 700. Between modules the PAR drops dramatically. I am glad I waited to install the 4th module as I probably would have fried some corals.

Its nice as the clouds go across the par drops so the intensity isn't constant.

However, my sandbed ranges from 50 to 100, which is lower than what I would have guessed... having a 24" deep tank does take a toll on the light penetration. Everything on the sandbed is doing well including the clams and haddoni nem.

I haven't been running CARBON lately either just out of laziness so I'm gonna need to be careful when I add it back. Maybe next month after I get the lights dialed in.

I've still got some playing and tinkering to do. I think what I'll do is add the 4th module, swap out the edges for 100 optics, and see where I'm at with that.

So far I love the color and effects. Too early to tell if I'm gonna grow any corals under these. So many variables.

Dont you mean swap with 40 or 70 degree optics to keep the light in around the edges?
i put 40's on the end, and swapped out to 100's on the inside rows between the panels. light spread and coverage is nice.

Hmm, you maybe right and I'm not understanding it correctly, but my thought process is I prefer the 70 degree optics as my tank is 24" deep, otherwise the 100's wouldn't get enough light to the sandbed.

So I thought I would put the 100's on the edges to get a bit more spread between the fixtures. Am I backwards?

if you have 4 modules over a 48....you have a ton of coverage. i have 3 over a 36, so in the same boat. light spill is critical to me (close to the boob tube) so i put the 40's on the end of the outside modules to focus the light in the tank. so far, no ill effects, i.e. bleaching. 100's on the two end rows might spill over the edge and light the outside of the tank.
i put 70's in the rest of the lights, except where the inside rows of the modules, where i put 100's, since the optic spreads overlap one another. i dont have any spotting, looks nice and even......just some food for thought. im no lighting guru

Now I see what you are saying. Good point not putting them on the edges, rather putting 40's to decrease the spread outside the tank. I was thinking about putting 100's where the fixtures meet, but you may be right that once I get the 4th up I won't have that issue.

Who can afford a par meter after dropping all this $$$ on some damn lights. i barely escaped with my life after my wife found out. cost me a pair of 3/4 carat diamond ear rings

I have 3 P-series over a 48x20x20 and i can't find a reason to dislike it. Very elegant looking, you can't see the wires, its low profile. The colors are great, my corals pop when it does the weather mode.

I just installed 8 modules in my 155 Bow Front. It looks amazing. The PAR measurements are equal to the Coralife 72" with 3 250 MH lamps and 4 Compacts that I took out last night. Hope that works as well as the Coralife has done for so many years with less electrical bill. I am using the 70 degree lens.

Everything has opened up like when the MH are on. So I hope that this is a good sign that things is moving foward. The reason I have so many modules is because this aquarium is deep, is wide at the central bow section, and is going to be heavily stocked.

Wow. What's the length of your tank and how's the weight of the modules on the mount? What mounting kits did you use?

I think the footprint on the 155g bowfront is 72x18 with the bow being 24 deep (front to back)?
