May 21st Local Swap

Okay, some of us where thinking we would have a mini-swap on May 21st as noted in my earlier thread. This is not a club santioned event and is not the larger annual one like the club put on last year, just a simple swap by the locals.

We have a place near Memfish for a formal exchange (Cresent Building) if needed, or we can simply have a quick parking lot swap near Memfish the morning of May 21st, or you can work it out with the seller/trader yourself.

So, if you have something to trade/sell or WTB fire away. Of course pictures are worth a thousand words (well maybe at least several hundred requests for pictures if you don't post one) and listed sales price lets us know how proud you are of your corals/fish....

If no one posts then I'll see you at the LFS (don't think we are supposed to post non-advertisers events so I will let you guess which one, but they do have a good event going on on that day)!;)

Mini Reunion!

Mini Reunion!

Wow! An event on a weekend that I'm off!!! I have nothing to sale but will support anyone selling LPS, softies, ect. Wish list: frogspawn, torch, hammers, colorful polyps, shrooms, ect.

I am also looking to stock fish in my 28G cube.....so that limits the field, but something like in the goby family?

I like that cass.....I would put torch, hammers, duncans, cloves and rics on my wish list.

Jabo you should not call cass names like that....lol

Just because people haven't (translated - too smart) graduated to SPS doesn't mean they are rookies! SPS are for people that have way too much time on their hands to deal with coral problems!

Where is your SPS stick coral wish list...."I want a brown stick, a green stick....." :lolspin:

Cass and I banish you to the SPS RC Discussion board wasteland where desperation is rampant and discussion of $1,000 equipment to keep your sticks alive are abundant...:hammer:

...do you realize this is the West Tennessee club and not the Missouri club...smack down....:eek1:

Now re-post some of those softies you tried to sell on easter weekend and maybe some generous volunteer state members will help you raise money to buy some SPS that you will kill within three months....:bounce2:

How about i will give you some cloves, GSP, and mushrooms....When they take over your tank I can say I told you so!

"sticks" = cash

I am more than happy to help support Jabo with his stick collection fund. Post what ya got for sale and I am pretty sure I can find something that needs to come home with me. I also am in need of some chaeto if anyone has some to spare.

I have some cheato I can give you Chris.

Jason, please give me all your softies and when your sticks all die and your wife takes away the checkbook I will give them back to you with a small keepers fee....but until then enjoy your sticks my friend....at least until they all die...

I have a few corals to sell/trade and will try to post later this week....

Don't encourage him. While Jabo is my reef mentor, and I want to be like him when I grow up, he has forgotten the Chinese proverb...the journey is the reward.

Certainly few reefers went from a fish bowl with a goldfish to a reef with SPS. Along the way we start with "rookie" corals and as we learn more about how to care for our little parts of the ocean we learn a great deal and have a lot of fun learning about a wide variety of corals. We also learn from our mistakes, but as we learn we are able to expand to more challenging corals. And, if Jabo is correct, at some point we lose our senses and believe that we have to take out second mortgages to buy equipment needed to keep Stupid Pieces of Sticks alive. :deadhorse1:

Now I have been visited by the ghost of reefers past and present in which I see that I am happy and enjoying my softies and LPS, and Jason, err the ghost of reefer's future, has paid me a visit and the future looks grim......all he showed me was a lone guy (wife and children have abanded him as he spends mindless hours trying to keep his corals alive and he drained the family's fortune) staring at what appeared to be a tank of dying sticks....including one that appeared to be Tiny Tim's cane...

My pics are terrible but I have a few things to sell if anyone is interested. PM me and make an offer.

Bright pink/orange cap (I have one large frag appx 3" diameter, but need to frag the colony. This pic is OLD and the colony is now huge.)
PICT00242-1.jpg

Bright green cap with blue polyps AND H@rry's Alabama Blue Tort (Another old pic. The cap needs to be fragged and I have a 5-6" frag of the blue tort)
PICT00592-1.jpg

Blueish candycane (I have two large colonies-probably 30-40 heads and two 2-3 head frags)
PICT00702-1.jpg

Two hairy mushrooms
PICT0149-1.jpg

I also have some baby sarcos and larger one as well.

I have a killer green mille that is huge if anyone is interested in frags.

I have never mastered the art of reef photography so I would probably be better of not posting ugly pictures...but everyone always asks for pics so there you go.

I don't plan to come to the swap unless I can presell some stuff so PM me to let me know if you are interested and we will work out a price...Let's make a deal!
