@ JG1

I had dosed Bak daily for the first 6-8wks, then reduced dosing as N/P dropped.

@ Stanley R

Great pics. The tank looks awesome! I too plan on moving to Vodka after I complete the full bottle of BioFuel.

Bump for more pics!!!

I use MB7 and BioFuel and also a GFO reactor but I have 0.00 PO4 on Hanna photometer and 0 Nitrates on API test kit. Once I got the readings down I now dose MB7 once a week if needed (which isn't verry often) and about 1/2 to 1/3 of the low nutrient dose of the BioFuel. I'm able to feed twice a day frozen Mysis, pellets and 2 to 4 times a week Med to Heavy nightly coral feedings. Oysterfeast, Rotifers, Pappone (with out sugar). My build thread is on PNWMAS "The 250g DD experience"

I'm questioning how SunnyX is able to achieve such a steriol tank without the use of Zeolith stones. Many reefers use this method so is anyone else out there getting his level of pristine by useing mb7 and vodka only?

Is anyone else able to achieve a Zeovit looking tank by useing only vodka and mb7?

Is Sunny's tank a one of a kind?

he also has a similar thread in reef 2 reef. you may find other people post their results following his mb7+vodka process.

Ive been vodka dosing for almost 2 years now, nothing else. Ive had good results. Its just a way of keeping my tank clean and being able to feed my fish a little more. Gotta be careful though, sometimes its easy to dose too much and have the tank actually get too clean. Ive recently actually had to lower my dosage before because my sps were getting too pale (an indicator for me that my tank's getting 'too clean').

Your corals look great.

Ramzy, your corals have really grown out!!! Looks great. I remember seeing your tank in person about a year ago and most of your corals were just little frags! Thats awesome.

Thx for posting pics

Very Nice!
Could you give us some details on ur system? tank size, lights, skimmer, etc. Thanks

@ Gilby

I think all the answers to your questions are in his Sig. I'm interested in details regarding your photoperiod and dosing regimen???

Thanks man! Ive been really lucky with this tank!! Ive kept things simple and only adding aquacultured frags and only dosing vodka. In my last tank I did Zeovit and dosed all kinds of stuff. Zeovit works great for some people but for me the results were bad. I like keeping things simple by only relying on vodka for nutrient reduction, I can dose only 1 thing and get the same results that zeo users get by dosing 4-6 things.

I did dose MB7 in the beginning but honestly never saw a difference from dosing it and stopping it. Ive used a few bottles then just completely stopped and never saw a difference.

Currently I'm at 1mL of Vodka. Ive gone up and down in dosage, highest I've gone was 7mL (I was feeding the fish a lot :D). I've never dosed any Amino Acids or food for the corals in this tank, I keep it real simple by just feeding the fish. My photoperiod is 5 hours for the Radiums and 9 hours for actinics.

I look forward to seeing how your tank responds to Vodka! Keep us updated please.

@ Reefer08

Thanks for the details.

Yeah, I'm on Week 2 of seeding my Tank with MB7 and already seeing drastic results. A lot less algae on glass, and cyano is deteriorating. I've decided to return the BioFuel and just dose Vodka after the 2 Week MB7 seeding period.

Zeovit worked great for me; I had been on the method for approx 1yr +/-. After slowly taking Zeovit away, I noticed colors, growth and PE were sad :( Hopefully, I can gain more motivation and start enjoying this hobby again with the MB7 + Vodka method.

Im sure you'll get good results off the vodka and mb7. I guess its a trial and error finding what works best for your tank and what doesn't since everyone's tank is different. Good luck man!
