Meanwell LDD driver: for those who want to dim to 0 using Arduino

this tread just got me into building a kit for my tank. Thanks for all the info. The only reason stopping me was the high price of drivers.

These LDD driver cost less than $4.50 if you're buying 10+, IMO it's worth every penny in term of what it does.

I ran into a wee bit of an issue with mine. Because of my LED configuration I'm running 2 different PSU's. I know this isn't really a good practice, but I'm in a spot where I'd love two of the drivers supplied by one PSU and the other by another PSU. My initial 4up boards I have are separated but it appears these new ones aren't? Is there a way to incorporate jumpers on the power side to choose which drivers are supplied by a PSU? If no one else has run into this - nevermind :)

many thanks O2Surplus

Question when you submit to itlead what do you need to select :)

Thinking of getting a batch done Then if anybody in UK wants some happy to sell on at the cost to ME :)
This is a great thread just hard to follow when i am trying to get up to speed with it all :)

Good question- Start here-http://imall.iteadstudio.com/

1.) select the 10 x 10cm size PcB option for this particular PcB.
2.) choose a thickness. I go for the thickest "free" option available.
3) Choose a surface finish- Go with what ever the "free" option is.( let somebody else pay to save the planet. Lol)
4. Choose a color, again going with "Green" is free. Other colors are going to cost add'l money.
5.) submit payment(make sure to pay for expedited shipping. YOU don't want to be THAT GUY who's still waiting a month later for his PcB's to ship. Do You?) and wait for the confirmation Email that lists your Order #.
6.) Rename the zip folder marked "GERBER FILES for Itead" to include your Order # and Email it to ITead.
7.) Sit back and wait. If everything goes according to plan, you should receive your PcB's in 10 - 14 days.

Does the ground of the Arduino have to be hooked up to every V- or is just 1 ok? I've got 4-4LDD boards and 2 separate PSU's and now I'm curious if I hook up to 1 PSU's V- if the other PSU's bank of drivers will dim. Any thoughts?

As long as there's at least one ground connection between the arduino and the driver PcB, PWM dimming should be functional. You don't need an individual ground wire for every PWM input. That would be overkill.

we are talking V- (IN) not V-OUT, you realize that correct?

I connected a ground to the (-) in from the powersupply, which shares a ground on o2's boards with the drivers.

Yup, that's right. But because I have 2 separate PSU's, a SE-350-36 and a SE-350-48, feeding 16 LDD's on 4 separate boards, with 1 Arduino, I guess I'm still not sure if I can have the ground of the Arduino in contact with both V- of the 2 PSU's together. Does that make sense?
