Chad you are the first to bring this to our attention that I know of. If you want something on Tuesday or whenever, I am sure we can accommodate. I believe the poll had high results for any day of the week. With Tuesday 2nd, Wed 3rd, Thurs 4th. There are better ways to bring this to our attention but hey. What day do you want it on?
See the sticky up top. Regardless, the drive time doesn't increase from a Tuesday to a Thursday.

We make them on Thuirsday so that Steve can attend as it is his only day off during the work week and as a member of the board we like to have him there

There will also be a meeting at Nemo's and a brief visit to cousin Lonnie's place (with his permission of course) in the coming months...hopefully there will be a few other Illinois events as well...stay tuned!
I totally understand the getting up early in the morning thing too. I think the Illinois events are long overdue and they will be happening for sure.

Sigh...we try to make our members happy. I think to this point Mike, you have yet to join, no? So, you engaging this conversation on which meeting night works best is perhaps awkward.
That said, let me say why Thursdays are a good night for club get-togethers. Mondays were voted as a zero, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays were voted as the most popular nights for events.
Why are we doing stuff on Thursdays? Simply because the day following Thursday is Friday. People are more apt to go out on a Thursday night, perhaps even stay up a little later because there is only one more day in the work week. For some unknown psychological reason, Thursdays are a good night for events...also, the turnout has always been good since we have used the Thursday night for our get-togethers.

Chad, we can always change the nights around...they are not written in stone. We have never received a complaint about the night yet and the turnouts keep growing in numbers, so we figure the Thursday Night Thing is working.
As a club for the members though, we want to make it open for suggestions on other nights and we will see what the other people want.

Regardless of what we do or when we have meetings, there will always be at least one person that has a problem with it.
If you would like to get things done and would like things done differently the most appropriate method of action would be to privately contact the board of directors instead of posting a thread.

To the sound of feathers ruffling I would like to know how come anytime someone has a question about the club they get told to ask it via pm. Why should everything be secretive? Their are many that browse the forum but never post, they may have the same thoughts as the person wondering what their $20.00 gets or why meetings are always on a certain date/certain location. To me, telling someone to handle the matter in private comes off as rude and seems to discourage open discussion about the club.
