Mhucasey's SPS obsession

Thanks Matt and Dan!
We'll be going in two weeks to see the puppies. :)
I'm sure I'll have a pic or two to post in my thread.

Matt, that red acro with blue tones, oh boy that is a stunner, and rare :) Your last FTS displays the diverse colors, and man have you got some killer colors! Looking sweet man!

Hi Matt and/or Perry

For some reason, my system with a fuge, matrix and siporax in excess, this time is not able to reduce Phos neither Nitrates.

I read in your thread and others, the availability of NP pro in a dilution to be used with dosing pumps. My mother, that is almost every day at home she is adding 2 drops of Pro Bio S to a total volume of 100 G

Please, tell me what would be a nice strategy to follow with my tank. In other words, would you start with 1/3 , half or.... of the Pro Bio S and NP pro ??

My total volume is 100 G (not final volume).

All your thoughs, based on your experiences, will be very wellcome.

Thank you!!!
Daniel

I didn't catch an alk drop to 7.0 from around 9.0 and now I get to deal with base recession. Oh the joys of acropora. At least I have decent polyp extension. Here's to hoping for recovery...

Your corals are looking wonderful Matt, that FTS is like a beautiful garden of corals. I'm especially impressed with your reds and pinks you are able get.

The usual way to start is with half a dose and work up to a full dose slowly over a week or two. You may not see drastic nutrient reduction with the combo but the coral's will show increased PE and health pretty quickly.

If they were easy it wouldn't be as rewarding to grow them- I keep telling myself that:)

Back has been 100% for awhile now. Usually takes only 10-14 days to recover. The wonders of youth.

Tanks is stagnant. Haven't been spending moola on it after my calcium container dumped in. Sat at 600ppm cal for along time because I couldn't get my hands on salt. Bit of algae cropped up but nothing I can't turn around. Just enjoying the summer for now though

I typically like more traditional epic fantasy above the others

Me too! I'm a bit behind the times though, and am just making my way through Robert Jordan. I wish I had more time to read though because it usually takes me 3 months to get through one of the Robert Jordan books. I didn't make it through the entire series of Terry Goodkind - I felt the writing started to wane. I dragged my butt through Confessor and then ditched out and started on the Robert Jordan series. I just finished A Crown of Swords and must admit that I put the book down for probably a month with only 50 pages to go, and finally just finished it recently. I don't normally read in the summer.

If you're looking for an interesting one or two day read check out Flowers for Algernon by Daniel Keyes if you haven't yet. It's a sci-fi short story written in 1958. It's a story I often take with me when I travel and I have re-read it so many times.

Matt, did you see the recent report that cam out saying that 13 out of 16 green chromis tested positive for Cyanide poison. Might be one of the reasons. That green chromis tend to go down to one fish in a tank.

Ugh...Rene Umberger...that's one person that does all the work possible to try to shut down the aquarium trade. One of the spearheaders of the Hawaiian fish collection ban.
