Mhucasey's SPS obsession

Sorry to hear about the milli. I wonder if some kind of pest lives near there?

I dread hearing about reefkeepers better than me having random issues ... I'm doomed. :)

I almost think that too about a pest being the cause but it seems weird that the same spot would have issues for a couple of years. Its got me gun-shy about the location now, a couple of corals that lived in that spot but have since been moved are doing better in their new location too. Maybe the rock there is contaminated or something.

Don't worry too much about what bad things could happen, just try to always learn something from each event. SPS are finicky things, its part of their appeal. the best reef keepers in the world have issues with dying corals and pests and water parameters just like all of us:)

Man that tank looks full ..ya just keep that spot empty it looks like an isolated issue cuz everything else is looking great..would love to check it out one day and do a video for my channel..

It's very full, making me have to choose which corals to keep and which have to go, but it looks like I will be able to upgrade to a much bigger tank soon! If you are going to be in North county, let me know and maybe we can set something up.

Ya for sure i will hit u up and set something up..ya it looks like its time for an upgrade ..

Since the other corals are fine,i wouldn't worry much buddy!
After all, that spot will be claimed/covered in a few months by the corals which are near there,so don't get anxious:beer:
Have you tried a "night flashlight hunt" to see if there is something there?
Have you tried placing there something easier?Like a digi, seria etc?Did it have the same luck?

Nice pics btw:)
Is upgrading in your plans?

Hopefully I will be placing the order for the new tank in the next few weeks. I got the quote back for the 66x32x22" starphire tank with eurobracing today and it is expensive but 2000 dollars less than the exact same tank rimless using 3/4" glass. I'm not a fan of eurobracing, especially 4" wide, but I also don't want to pay a ton extra and deal with 3/4" glass. I'm thinking about this a lot, it's a frustrating decision...

Oh and about possible pests, I look in the tank at all hours of the night. I'm sure I'm really popular among the fish for disturbing their sleep:p. I've never seen anything to explain the "death spot"

The red acro is available for pick up - Ill be getting this either tomorrow or next Saturday:) It will definitely not be going in the "Death Spot":

Thats a very nice piece. Pick it up for sure and stick a photo up; I'll be sitting here being all jealous about it.

I hope it stays red for you! My Red Robin is a redder shade of brown at the moment. I'm starting to wonder if there are easier reds out there. :)

This is actually a different acro than the red robin, which they also have right now at AquaSD. I saw this one in person a couple of weeks ago and it is definitely red, very unusual color for sure. Will said he wouldn't negotiate on price because he had do do a lot and pay a lot to get the mother colony in the first place. Red is a very difficult to find color for Acros, there are so few that exist other than millies and similar, so this one caught my eye right away. Now to find a truly yellow acropora....

I don't usually spend a lot for frags and this one is very expensive, so at the moment the thought of buying it is making me nervous. No I won't share how much it is;) Luckily this is tax return/bonus season and I can afford it and I got an enthusiastic thumbs up from my better half:)

I didn't mean to imply it was a RR. :) Be sure to keep us posted, I want to see how fast you can color it up, or if it keeps its color.
