might host anemone species affect Amphiprion coloration?

Not a new topic but perhaps there are recent developments or documentations proving inconclusive proof.

What I would need to see is the same (mature) fish at X coloration darken up when placed in an anemone (Stichodactyla gigantea and/or S. mertensii are usually the two species cited) and same fish (when removed from the anemone) return to coloration X.
I think it could be possible but I've never seen proof.
Any documentation greatly appreciated- thanks!

i dont have any photographic proof, but the color changes i have experienced with clowns has always involved haddoni carpets.

i have put several yellow ORA captive bred clarkii in with haddoni carpets and within two weeks they are solid black with just yellow tails.

i had a juvenile chrysopterus, less than 3/4 of an inch lose all the yellow from its fins and nose when placed with haddoni. its brothers and sisters retained the yellow when kept with any other anemone species.

i do not have any experience with the color changing back however.

i should have a solid black tricinctus this week to pair with my yellow tricinctus. i am interested to see if the black will fade to yellow when kept with my crispa.

After being hosted by an M. doreensis for a couple of months (( better time frame in the thread ))

After a couple of months in an S. haddoni (( same tank, no other changes, besides switching anemones ))

Lost the female (( left the netting off after a water change )) about 1.5 years ago.

The male is now hosted by an E. quadricolor and seems to have stalled as far as getting the black back.

Need to get an updated picture, but this is from before the E. quad, about a year ago.

Yes, a B&W ocellaris that replaced the female (( though, it is the male, and the SI male is now the female )) that had jumped.
