Mile High 220 Gallon SPS

Lights are on. Everything looking good so far. I lost a couple of SPS pieces in the move it seems, there's still a bit on each that is alive so leaving them in hoping it can recover. The big phonape at the front which is unfortunate, had that piece for 4 years, got it as a piece of rubble less than a 1/4" in size and it grew to a full on colony, sad, hopefully it can recover.

Worked on wire management today. Made these boards that all the apex equipment will mount to, space behind them to hide the wires.

The larger board will have the EB8's mounted to it, it's on hinges so easy to access the wires behind.

Very neat... I really like the use of hinges to gain access when needed. Are the radion power supplies going to mount on those boards?

No, I thought about it, but not enough space. They are mounted to the top of that rack, and I'm just going to leave them there, actually not a bad spot for them.

All the Apex gear that's laying on that shelf will go onto the board that's on the wall behind it btw.

Got a bit more done today. My OCD is finally being satisfied.

All cables will be behind the board, and out of site, so they'll come through those holes to plug in.

EB8's mounted, next up I have to transfer everything over to the new Apex, which I'm a bit freaked out about [emoji51]

Here's the tank tonight. Added a couple of clownfish today, and it also appears like the birds nest are recovering and regaining color. I've noticed all my SPS have major PE going on, never seen that before, will try to get some shots of it, looks cool.

Hella Yella tenius, never seen the polyps extend as much as this, think that's a good thing?

With all those polyps, i can't tell there's a coral under there!! Did everything transfer over seamlessly? I have a new apex coming next week and going on vacation the next day... No matter your answer I'm probably going to wait. Just wnat to know what I have in store when I switch them.

I haven't done the transfer yet, I'm kinda chicken tbh, keep putting it off haha from what I've read it's not that hard, but just don't want to screw it up. The EB832 seems really nice though, and it's nice that the Cond probe is built into the Apex so there's no need for a PM2 module, excited to have it all switched over at some point

Yeah, I'm sure it will be super easy, I know exactly what you mean though. I'll have to devote an entire day to make sure everything is tracking properly.

I've never monitored salinity before, yet another thing to keep track of...

It's nice to track, gives you piece of mind that the skimmer hasn't gone crazy and the ATO hasn't run for hours dumping in a bunch of FW. It's just nice to track and see that it's stable

Bit of an update. Managed to transfer everything over to the new Apex, wasn't too bad, just took a lot longer than I thought it would, amazing how much code and profiles and everything that there is you have to copy and paste, took me a solid afternoon, but I took my time to ensure it was done right the first time.

Finished off the Apex mounting boards, helps tidy it up a bit.

Still work in progress, need to tidy up the cable lines as they go trough the wall, but need to build another mounting board for the powerhead controllers and power supplies.

Also installed some strip LEDs that I had left over from another project under the tank to make it easier to work on, used a 1/4 round trim piece to get a good angle on them.

Got a utility sink installed in the fish room, this will make making water easier.
