Minimalist Aquascaping

Has anyone defined any rules to what qualifies as a minimal scape?

I don't know if you could do pounds since rocks have different densities. What about % of water displacement?

Just curious.

There have been a few general rules, but nothing absolute. It's more of a "feeling" almost.. IMHO anyway....

shaggs, I love that tank! Everything about it is clean and well thought out. Do you have pictures of your sump?

Many thanks for your kind words. My build thread is HERE.

The sump is too big ATM as they made it wrong. Another one is on the way and should be here early next week. It is then I will clean up the sump and make it neat so please forgive the mess!

Cheers

I really like your rock work. I think you will get the minimalist feel from having only a few well placed frags. Lots of swimming space for a few fish, a few LE corals, and lots of bright white (or any color for that matter) sand is my interpretation of a minimalist aquascape. The contrast between a couple fish, bright corals, and a large amount of uncluttered sand is a good way to get the look your seeking.

Warmest Regards,
James

Thanks for the reassurances James. I agree with most of your interpretations ..:P Hopefully Lots of white starboard will keep it going for ya :lol2: This is basically killing me I seem to change the rock work every day. I refuse to add water until I find a pretty good medium...

Any other interpretaions welcome...
