Looks nice. Are you going barebottom or going to put sand in it later? Where did you get that holding box for the fish?

thanks man, i'm going barebottom so i dont have to deal with sandstorms with the mp60.

got the acclimation box from www.4coral.com

the 12x6x6 box works out well. i had problems with the emperor jerking the blueface around in QT. so i'm going to keep him in that box for a couple of days. it certainly helps dealing with aggressive fish.

What's you live rock to gallon ratio you guys are running on your setups(DT and fuge)? I am trying to go this route on my new setup and wanted to know if 20 lbs of live rock along with 40 lbs of live sand is sufficient enough for my 30 gallon long with 20 gallon sump?

reworked the aquascape a little bit. obviously there's a little sand in the tank, but i will be adding a bit more. this is just what i had in a bucket in the garage at the moment.

This is just awesome. Exactly the look I'd like x2 in my 150H. Did you epoxy those rocks together to get that? I'm planning on drilling and pegging my eco dry rock from BRS. Not sure if I need to use any of that 2-part epoxy stuff too. I hope not as I'd love to just have a bunch of pegs and holes and be able to put it in/take it out in pieces and/or move things around later if I don't like something.

Anyway...beautiful tank!

Thanks Jlylec! I used fiberglass rods and aquamend/jb water weld to connect the rock. I drilled holes in the rock, stuffed epoxy in the holes, inserted the rods, connected the rocks, then plastered epoxy where the rods and rock connected. Towards the top, I only had to use epoxy as the rocks were light enough. The fiberglass rods I used were driveway markers from home depot with the reflectors on top. I just cut the pieces off that I needed.

Love the minimalistic aquascapes. Look cleaner and are much easier to clean. Plus more room for corals and fish to swim.

So, here's a question. When did someone finally get brave enough to test the old tried and true rule of 1.5 lbs per gallon of live rock needed to provide essential biofiltering? Some tanks appear to use less than .5 lbs per gallon and still look pristine--even without skimmers.

Anyway, glad someone did it.
