Hi Rytek - It looks like the AIs are going to a keeper. The 70 optics have noticeably lower the intensity of the lights. I'm now able to bring up the intensity without annoying my corals. Here is my current setting, I hope to reach a max intensity of 65w, 70b, 80rb.
T1 8:00am 120min ramp 5w, 10b, 10rb
T2 10:00am 240min ramp 25w, 30b, 30rb
T3 2:00pm 240min ramp 50w, 60b, 70rb
T4 8:00pm 30min ramp 25w, 30b, 30rb
T5 8:30pm 30min ramp 5w, 10b, 10rb
T6 9:00pm 30min ramp 0w, 0b, 0rb lunar off
When I was running at max intensity of 40% white, I noticed the color my monti cap and green slimer started to fade. They're starting to show better color now that I'm up to 50%. Hopefully by the time I get to 65% they'll be back to normal. LPS/softies are doing super well under these lights.

Tran, the tank is looking really nice. It is filling up quickly. I was looking back on the thread when you first started it and compared it to now, wow.....
How is your little one doing? We had our son 3 weeks ago. Been busy on my end. I was out of town for a month and the tank survived this time

Hi Rick, Congrats on the newborn! I'm awesome news, hope you and the family are well. Try and get some sleep whenever possible. :lol:
I'm currently coral sitting for a friend so most of the stuff on the sand bed is his. Hopefully he can take them back at the end of the month so I can have my clean sand bed back.
It's way too packed right now.

what kinda of sand are using? i just got a mp40, so don't want it to fly around everywhere...also, this might be a basic question, but how do you keep your glass so clean. i'm not a fan of the mag floats especially when you have sand as it can get caught and scratch the glass!...and that's the last thing i want.

p.s i bought a used 30 g acrylic tank for my sump, just gonna glue in some acrylic baffles!

Hi Viks,
I'm using Tropic Eden Mini Reef Flakes. They're pretty big sized grains so they don't move much at 60% reef crest mode. I clean my glass 2x a week with a Hammerhead magnet for the big areas and use a Kent glass scraper for the bottom and top. The Hammerhead provides a nice grip that wipes the algae out with one swipe. I have also cut down my feeding which has also helped with the algae.
Sounds like the sump will work out well. Good luck and let me know how it goes.

On the photography note, the EF 35mm f/1.4 L lens should have smoother bokeh. In the pic of the Ric's it looks quite harsh, you may want to try shooting in Av mode and stepping down the fstop to 2.8 or 4 to see if it improves the bokeh (blur in the background, doing so should give you a smoother background with a reduction of the circles of color look)
I went for the EF 17-40mm f/4 L on a 60D and the bokeh is much smoother(look at the backgrounds, first pic has noticeable bokeh but the 2nd shot thats stepped down is super smooth).
At worst its somewhat noticable on the 17-40:

Just debating on picking up an EF 100mm f/2.8 L IS Macro for even smoother images and the extra reach!
