Thank you very much.

Egg crate cut to size, and for powerheads and overflow/return. Then zip tied dry base rock to the egg crate. Used canned great stuff foam to fill in between the rock and the rest of egg crate. Trimmed and picked at the foam to make it look more realistic. Brushed some epoxy over the foam and sprinkled sand over that.

Kyle,

I always liked your recipes. Awesome tank!

Man I wish I had your ability to make things look good!

Needless to say I could never recreate mine to look that good.

Too bad. I'll just have to keep the black background

nice stand. Is that actual marble or some sort of veneer? If it's real marble or stone, I imagine it weighs a ton.
Haha, thanks. Not actually marble. It's a vinyl wrap, about $6 worth.

Thank you Mike! I learned from the best, I miss having you around... as the DIY encyclopedia... not gay or anything... although you are a stud... what?

Thanks, its really not that hard once you start it. This was my first attempt at anything like it. I just did enought research and planning to build up confidence and went for it. I know you would be able to do it as well.

Ha ha, that's awesome. I'm in Austin Texas now so if you are ever heading this way, you should make a stop in.

Tank looks great! Do you have any build shots on it? A thread? I know you like to document stuff.

my interpretation...

Coseal;

Can you explain your cabinet framing? It looks like finish grade plywood or a hardwood, 3/4"? Along with inset melamine doors with handles from Ikea  Is there any additional framing for support? Also, where did you get your tank. I ask cause I'm in Northern Virginia.

Nice!!!!!

Wow, the rendering looks great. I can't wait to see what it looks like when it's done. I see that you are from Belgium, drink a nice ale for me, like a Westvleteren, Pannepeut, or Hoegaarden Grand Cru or Speciale (I wish we had those here in the US. I have a friend in Brugge that occasionally sends me over some great Belgian beer and chocolates).

Hey all,

I plan on getting an Elos Midi this summer and mounting an Aquaillumation LED Sol light above it. IMO, the mounting system from AI is just ugly and hanging the light from the ceiling would look strange as the ceilings are high. So I will need to manufacture a light stand or having something that attaches to the wall behind the tank. I have seen several instances in this thread where it looks like people used some type of metal for their stands. I like the looks of these but aren't their chances of this starting to corrode/rust and dripping into the tank (which would be very bad). Is there something that would look really modern and nice but that would not pose a hazard to the tank? This tank will be in my bedroom to replace the 25g I recently broke down.

Also, I have a 12g nanocube in my kitchen. I have started to have problems with the hood on this tank. Fans starting to go out, etc. The tank is several years old and it is time to get a new tank here too. This tank sits on top of one of the kitchen counters so I would need another smaller all inclusive tank of about the same size. I won't be able to have a sump underneath or anything so it has to be part of the actual tank. Does anyone have suggestions of good all-in-one tanks that are modern-looking? All the tanks on this thread have been larger. Any pics of smaller modern tanks with built-in sump/fuge? Thanks!
