Modern Reef Aquariums

Oh, and the area where the current tank sits on the counter between the kitchen and dining area is going to hold a collection of cool-looking terrariums. No animals in the terrariums. Plants only.

the most resent reef i have seen to be what i consider a "modern reef" is on a certain blog i can not mention here. the name of the reef is ecoreef zero. its a new/modern approach to reef keeping i have never seen before. one that will in my opinion catch on quick. its simple, minimal, inexpensive, easy, and is achieved in such a way that has never seen before... it is totally modern. kudos to its creator. a tremendous inspiration to those of us who are truly into modern reefs

nice! what is your lighting?

How are your SPS doing under the PAR 30 bulb? Who made the bulb?

Nick
I've had both birdsnest the longest and they have had remarkable growth. The only thing I don't like about LEDs are the colors have faded and are taking a while to regain in them and the montiporas. The newest ones (Hyacinthus, MI Bottlebrush, and Tort) all still look fantastic. I think I may need another bulb, one for each island, if I want to see quicker results.
The bulb is a BoostLED unit, 4 color. My build thread has more details and pictures.

You may have too much light already....based on the numbers and spread of the 5 bulb unit.

Are you planning on using Ecothech Powerheads? If so, what is your spacing between the wall and glass. Love the clean look!!

:bigeyes::bigeyes: WOW!!! :bigeyes::bigeyes:

Your stand is beyond impressive. It's definitely the nicest stand that I've ever seen.

Is it made with wood with an acrylic or veneer, or is it just a very high-gloss paint? Can you tell us more about it? I'm absolutely in love with it. I hope you have a tank or build thread going. I'm not sure you should even put anything in it. It's hard for me to imagine that it could get any better looking, lol. It truly is a piece of art.
