Mojo's New Miracles build

that is looking mighty superb!! your stand is wicked nice, very glossy :)

so... what are you thoughts on the eductor?
It does work, but mine has to run close to top so I dont get a lot of back siphon and its sucking air.

Looking good bro. I like the Scape.

I got mine swapped over tonight. Everything is a little PO'ed at the moment. As you can see by the post time it's been a long one....

That is one sexy looking tank. Love what you achieved with your other tank, and cant begin to imagine what you will be able to do with the extra size. Have been following this one up untill now and will continue to do so with enthusiasm!

ok a few updates. Not done yet but getting there.

Looks great!

I will take a few more pics here later tonight or tomorrow after I get the wiring tucked away and get the dosers hooked back up. I did get the ph probe and heater tucked away in the sump and hooked up to the controller. The real kicker is I bought 30lbs of rock to add for this setup and its been seeding in the frag tank with 150+lbs of Live rock for the last month. And now I dont think I want to add anymore rock. More pics to come. Have the local Fort Wayne Marine Aquatics Society (FWMAS) meeting today so that will take up some time. ANdI have to clean up my 57gallon for the new owner. Business first, pleasure later (new tank stuff ) :)
Thank you all for tagging along.
I get a lot of people asking about the 3 ft light over the 4 ft tank. At one point I always thought I needed a 4 ft fixture on a 4 ft tank, 3ft on a 3ft ect... Not really the case. I bought the 3ft fixture for my 57g only because they were out of the 2ft ati at the time. And it ended up being too much light. Even reducing the light cycle I was bleaching coral out on the sand. Had to remove high par bulbs and put in a couple UVL super actinics to drop the par in the tank. So thus far I am happy with the light spread over the 4ft tank and the look. Not to mention I have extra room to work in the tank. I was able to add all my rock and never move the light. Just my 2 cents on it.

I agree about the light fixture length. Another added bonus is that a shorter light fixture on a tank looks better, imo

i agree, and another bonus is that it has less light scattering outside the tank :) going to do the same on my build!

Looking really nice mojo~! Congrats on the wedding too. Getting use to saying "my wife"? Do you have a bristletooth tang? If not, what is that brownish looking tang?

Ok well I have been working on this off and on all weekend. I am 98 % done. Got a few wires to tuck away and I am good.

Did some water testing today. As 75% of the water is new

Salt 1.024
Mg 990
alk 7
Cal 340

Kinda disappointed as I am using Brightwell Aquatics salt. Thought it would test out a little better than that. So time to start dosing it up.

Will take some pics tomorrow. for a update.

The tank looks nice, but just out of curiosity why didn't you do a CTC with an external return box?

I'm not a big fan of the CTC. I have had a few people ask me as well about that. I guess Miracles does a lot of these?

Is this your first time using the Brightwell?

it is my first bucket. I had been using h2Ocean pro before the Brightwell. I will probably not be buying it again. I ll either go with the H2O, Seachem, or Tropic marin Pro. Just not sure. We will see. I have been mixing up more Calcium as I wl need that and more Mag. Alk wll not need that much but I will have to start dialing in the dosers. The tank looks great and I will be watching the corals so I can see what I need to do with the lights. More or less light (time) or maybe a bulb swap if I need more or less. Just have to give it a week or two and go from there. I use MY ORA Red Planet as a gauge. Can always get a good idea from it. More green light s low no green all red Light is high. So without the par meter anymore I just use it as a gauge.

Well Pics will come tomorrow when the lights come on.

I like the clean look inside the tank using a CTC not to mention the increased air/water exchange. It obviously does require some additional space outside of the aquarium like mojo said but I had the perfect spot on one end so that was not an issue.

I just didnt want the tank to stick out further than it was already going to. I guess mayb I am used to the internal overflow as well. but it works and fits like I hoped it would.

More pics today !!! another hour or so before the lights start. I did get handles on the doors too. So it is a little nicer...
