Great coral coloration on the SPS. Other than the regular maintenance, what is your secret?

No secrets really just feed and try to keep things the same and stable. I run a simple sup. Filter sock skimmer and return pump with a bag of carbon and a bag of gfo.

I do use iodine about every other day. 1 or 2 drops.
WM coral snow once a week or so. feed PE mysis or spectrum pellets for the fish.

in my return pump section. I am actually using Warner MArine Phosar HC for phosphate removal. and BRS rox carbon.

Mojo,

Where are you getting those awesome looking favia's? They are incredible. Can I keep those in an sps dominate tank?

I recently installed a Miracles custom build. It is a 180-gl., starphire on three sides, euro-bracing and dual external overflows. Derek and Nathan were terrific to work with and other than a small slip-up on the size of the holes drille for my two drains, I could not be happy with Miracles.

Good luck with your new build, I'm on week three with mine. Great stuff.........

Yea I am pretty happy with the aussie pieces I got in today. The picstures dont show size very well. tHe green favia is about 7 inches across, the bowerbanki is probably 4+ inches across and the other favia is probably 4+ inches round as well. Nice little Elegance too. Glows green with the blue tips.

Awesome set up Mojo and the DIY skimmer was tight.

Have a question about the tank itself.. I'm looking to get a tank similar in dimensions to yours. I was just wondering how heavy it is. Can two adult males (medium build) carry it?

Also, are you finding that your MP40 is adequate flow?

Thanks

The tank itself 2 people can carry fine. But in the crate it was 350lbs. I didnt lift it in the crate.
Its is a solid tank for sure. no worries that it wasnt built strong enough

The one 40 is doing pretty good right now. as thigs row out more I may have to add the second.

Hey Mojo,
What are your thoughts on placing two MP40's on the back? I couldn't stand seeing that dry side all day if I was you!:thumbdown Also, have you considered placing a black acrylic lid over the overflow box instead of painting the PVC?

Are you getting them online or a LFS?

I tried it on the back. And I think 2 mp 20 's on the back would work well. But for now I have one 40 so I put it on the side. I prefer the back and when I get a chance to get another Ill try them on the back again. but to run the 40 on the back with any flow pushes the sand back away from the front glass.

Yes I am going to make a lid for the overflow. Kind of working on a little pump project at the moment.Super Sedra... i think it has been labeled. But there will be more to come
