Monolith

Wow, beautiful tank! I also love the dimensions, and the height of the tank makes for those super awesome photos you've taken looking up to the surface! I understand your aquascaping woes, as I have a hard time being happy with my rocks too. Luckily my tank is a mere fingerprint of yours, so I can rearrange the whole thing in 15 minutes. Haha! :D

Excellent photography on this page! Your tank is looking amazing.

Thanks Mindy!

Big tanks are great when it comes to have multiple big fishes, multiple big coral colonies, but when it comes to maintenance.....
The acquascape is to me something like a garden. It's a living thing and never gets completely done.
So we change and change and change just to keep it as close to what we want in that specific period of time.

Haha! I own an aquarium maintenance company, and as much as I like the thought of having a large tank like yours, I don't think I could come home from scrubbing tanks all day and then scrub mine too. I have a few clients with large tanks, and I get my fix that way (and skulking tank journals like yours!). :D

Funny you mention gardens, it is much like gardening! You new treasures, you have to weed and water, you even get pests. :p

A friend of mine said one time: "When you turn your hobby into work...It's time to get a new hobby!!!!!!!":lol::lol:

I mentioned gardening because I have a little experience with that....

Oh Alex, what you don't understand is that I left the realm of "hobby" a couple decades ago when it became obsession. :lolspin:

Don't tell me those are orchids?!

If you don't want me to tell you......

Nooooo.....there's no orchids there...:p

PS.: You're not the only obsessed person in the room....:lolspin:

Wow, just wow mate! Your photo's are stunning :D

And you know if they are orchids we're going to need to see some pics of them as well!!! Especially if they're getting that much love and attention :D

Subscribed as well, excited to see the new larger tank and how it does for you.

Untill now, everything is running sweet. Let's see what will come...

Thanks.
I think if I start to put photo flowers here I'll be beaten up.:blown:
Better let's each thing in it's own place....

In Aus we would give anything for a red Monti cap, guess I always want what I can't get

Anything? Did I read the word anything????:D:D:D
Here the capri is a cheap coral and a fast grower....So no one gives it a damn...

Here we cry a river for the 2, 3 colored aussie acros....:eek2::eek2::eek2:

PS.: Measured alk = 8,5dKH. Never before I was able to keep my ALK as high without losses

Thanks it is a Mauritius Yellowtail Tamarin Wrasse (Anampses meleagrides). Great reef fish.

More Beautiful Corals. Great photography. Do you adjust your lights for photos? If so what setting do you use?

That's a pretty beautifull fish.
Unfortunatelly it's rare to come to Brazil.

I use a Canon EOS Rebel to take the photos.
No adjust on lights to do that.
I adjust the White Balance on camera shotting some white on reef (sandbed, some card) and using this photo to custom the WB.
After that I usually correct the Gamma and Exposition on Photoshop.

Well....

This is the story of this particular sps on my reef.
All shots were taken in my previous tank.
