Montgomery Frag Swap

Thank you everyone the super time my wife and I had!!!! The frags that I got are doing great. THANKS, Julie, Gary, Will, H@rry, Jim, and ALL the rest that that were there, it was truly a great time. We met some wonderful people and hope to see all of them again soon. My wife and I are looking forward to the club becoming official. Wife will get our pics downloaded and I'll post as soon as I can. We had a great time, too. It didn't feel as almost overwhelmingly busy as some in the past have. I do tend to get a little scatter brained once all the action starts. I really enjoyed doing the fragging demonstration. Everyone looked so attentive:). There are so many caveats to fragging different things, but I hope I covered enough to get some started at least.

I'm glad so many came out. I don't have an official count yet (need to get with Julie on the door prize ticket number). I hope to do this again sometime:).

my raffle ticket stubs start at 042. I know there were several more who sneeked in, so I'm guessing around 50 people maybe?

Montgomery Frag Swap

As everyone knows, I don't often post but this is one of those times that I really want to do so.

Harry and I really enjoyed meeting everyone. It's always good to make new friends and share new ideas. I probably have a slightly different view of frag swaps because I'm a "tag-along spouse" and know very little about the actual cultivation and care of the livestock.

From my point of view I was impressed at the number of spouses/partners/children that were in attendance and being fully supportive of their special "reefer." Three cheers for those special folks!

Montgomery you have reason to be proud. Your first swap was a true success and I'm sure your club will grow by leaps and bounds. We are really looking forward to the opportunity to see our new friends again in the near future.

Hey MAry!!! your frags look great in my tank!!! it was a pleasure meeting you, ya'll come back down to see us!!! :)

Many thanks to Gary, Jenn and Julie for doing all the legwork to make this happen. The raffle items and door prizes were awesome and I thought it came off as a fun and well-organized event. Really enjoyed the fragging demo - I fragged my first soft coral using the toothpick method last might.

Harry and Mary - it was great meeting you and being able to put faces to screen names. Enjoyed the dinner and conversation. Someday I'd like to come up and see your system.

Hope we have the chance to do this again soon. Jessica has said the Drury would be happy to host again.

Just wanted to say that the frag swap was well worth the 2.5 hour trip from Fairhope. The raffle prizes were awesome and I won the auto top off I needed for a co2 degassing resevoir I am building to run between my ro and di (well water issues).

I got frags from everyone and then went to Jim's LFS. His dry good prices seemed to match online vendors. He had all these mature display tanks that were awesome, but I wondered, where are the corals for sale? It was interesting to learn that he frags the fraggable right there for you. You get to see the mother colony and buy a piece for yourself. I added a few more frags to my weekend haul.

Thanks to all for the work they put into this swap.
