I just got a frag of a Montipora Undata and would like to know where to put this new frag in my tank. Particularly, how much flow and lighting. Is is pretty much like other montis like caps, encrusting, or digitatas?

interesting. Mine is low in the tank Jiggs. Doing well. Same place as Stan, the guy I got it from in NJ. I'm no expert though.

Hey Mitch. I'll have to play with it and see how it does. I have it in the middle right now with random flow. We'll see how it goes.

Mine's been in low light for a year. The rim will start getting purple when it hits 1.5" to 2" across. If it does it sooner, call yourself lucky.

Mine is medium-light. I found it keeps color better under 20K's. (Really looked kinda bad when I kept it under XM 10K's with Actinic T5's.) Grows well under the 20K's too.

Well here.. this is what my undata looks like under 10K, 4" under 250W of light..

I have mine at the top of my tank, about 6-7" under the water using a 400W Radium 20K. I could not be more pleased with it in this location.

ah - my undata is a rich green with white polyps. under 10K's it really went a dull yellow. atomikk: yours looks awesome!!! kinds looks like my confusa.

Nice looking pic Atomikk. WOW.

Based on several response, seems like it can go to a wide range of lighting from top to bottom placement in the tank. I'll just have to keep an eye out and see how it response in my tank.

Yup - that's the one I have. It's just a frag, but it's growing nicely (after about a month of settling in). Definitely seems to like the 20K's.

jmaneyapanda - I have to say - WOW.

I do have a little frag of the Tyree Undata. I love it how undatas look kinda like it's floating/hovering. THe purple new growth adds to the beauty.
