montis touching ??

is it generally same for any sps from the monti family to touch. I'm wanting to mount a digi and cap frag beside each other...inspired by someone elses I saw on RC. I'm thinking a green digi with orange cap...and orange digi with green cap ??

any thoughts on this

I had a digi badly sting a cap. It had gotten pushed over. Basically a 1/16" tip killed a 1/4' by 1/2" area of cap. I've seen caps that touch and so fine. The same cap that was stung co-exists nice with my Tyree Idaho grape.

It will all depend on the montis, as has already been stated, each "pairing" will be different. We also have several that touch, with little to no ill effects, but there have been other "touch events" that were less than friendly. The best advice is to make sure that they are not too small when you let them touch, that way if one starts to kill the other you won't lose you entire colony. Each time I have had a "fight" the losing party would heal and recolonize the dead skeleton eventually (as long as it wasn't too much dead).

I recently has a single Candy Cane fall on to a Orange Monti. It killed a beauty as big as your hand R
