More water flow for SPS?

I currently have the following in my 90 gallon tank:

2 Koralias 4, 1200 GPH each
400 GPH Overflow/Return

= 2800 GPH

Should I add more water flow if I want to keep SPS?

Thank you :)

Very newbe question: Would I be able to keep other corals if I go w/ SPS?

I know it all depends from the corals, but I am just wondering if an SPS tank must have nothing but SPS.

Thank you Peter E. :)

I have 3 K4's in my tank right now with a Eheim 1262 as return pump on my 90g. I get quite a bit of flow depending on where the flow is directed. That is prob about 4000+ GPH about 45x

I have a little more then half of what you are projecting for your tank in my 30g cube.

I have SPS up top and all my anemone's,LPS, Zoas, Softies down low.

great info all - i appreciate it!! :)

I got 2 koralias 4, 1 at each side.

Instead of going with another Koralia 4, which I find a little too big, what other powerhead would you add if you were me?

A) Tunze Turbelle Stream Pump 6060, which will get me at about 4400 GPH

B) Taam Seio M1100, which will get me at about 3900 GPH

C) Tunze Turbelle NanoStream Pump 6045, which will get me at about 4000 GPH

So, almost all at the same GPH rate. There is a huge difference in price and quality however. Keep in mind that this 3rd powerhead will be place in the middle of my tank.

Thanks again :D

if you got the bread, get a vortech in the middle. nice and clean!!!!! controllable speed too!!!!

I am totally serious! I have it set on lagoon random mode in the top back middle of my 120 and it is so nice. It is only set at about 1/3 power but it still creates great low energy water movement for the tank.

Yes they are pricey, but they can still be used when you upgrade! I got mine because the motor is on the outside of the tank, and I can't afford to add any heat inside the tank. Seahorse need to be kept below 74 degrees

If you want something smaller get a MJ mod of some type. Otherwise, the Seio and Turbelle aren't really any smaller and the Seio's have iffy reliability.

get another koralia 4. that wont be too much. i am adding another 4 to my tank. i have 2 koralia 4s in my 72, plus a 350 gal powerhead, and 350 return. that is 3100 and i keep SPS, LPS, anemones, polyps, zoanthids, softies, xenia, riccordea, mushrooms, and a sand bottom, dont have any problems.

If going w/ the MJ 1200 + Super flow, it would get my overall flow to 4900GPH. Isn't that too much in a 90 gallon tank?

Maybe a MJ 900 + Superflow would be enough.
