Mounting Monti Digi & Birdnest horzontally on side of rock???

I'm adding a couple monti digis and neon green ORA birdsnest. If you mount them on the side of a rock in the display sideways (horizontally), will they grow OK and fill in where they look good OR is it better to mount them vertically on the top of a rock???

If you mount them horizontally, they will just slowly curve upwards and grow up and out like normal.
