Mounting Streams to Bulkheads

Hi Roger, I was contemplating how to mount my streams. My tank has perimeter bracing all the way around. It has 3/4" bulkheads all the way across the back wall. I had them drilled in the eventuality that I might put in multiple SCWDS - which I will not be doing. Currently they are just plugged (they're threaded), but I was wondering if there is any way to get the Streams attached. It would actually be great, since I have one near each side of the tank, and I wouldn't have to look at the ugly white PVC plug I have in there now.

Is there anyway that you know of to do this? Or could I just take the plug out (it's ok, it's plugged on the outside of the BH also), attach it to the Stream or something that would hold the Stream, like with SuperGlue? Also I would need the Streams to pivot so I can direct the flow across the tank, slightly angled towards the front.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Also your MB is full, I was inquiring about picking up a Megachrome.

Thanks,

David

This requires some thought so let me ponder it for a while and see what I can come up with.

Great, LMK what you can think of. I should make a trip to HD this weekend and check out different 3/4" threaded fittings.

I'd really like to do this, it would accomplish a couple things for me (getting rid of those ugly plugs).

All I can come up with is

A) Get nicer plugs- check other plumbing stores, I notice here in Austin Lowes is twice as cool as HD, frankly I haven't set foot in a Home Depot since we got Lowes. Also, we have a few independent plumbing shops that have really cool stuff and even just a different brand may have a more appealing shape or color.

B) With PVC glue- glue the clip that goes on the rail to the plug and then you can mount the pump to the plug and hide the hole bulkhead thing with the pump.

Thanks, I'm going to try B. 2 questions,

Will PVC glue 'melt' the Tunze clip, making a permanent, trustworthy bond?

If I screw it up, where can I get extra clips for traditional mounting.

I have clips in stock. PVC glue will melt the plastic- I use Henkels PVC/ABS cement which is Tunze part 104.71 to repair Tunze stuff. I like it because it is a paste and comes in a toothpaste type of tube and is very controllable and easy to work with. I import it from Germany but Henkels owns just about every plastics and adhesive manufacturer except 3M so odds are it is available here I just don't know where. A tube is $7.61.
